All School Reunion: FBHS

This past weekend we headed back home to Fessenden for the all-school reunion and Wells County Fair. We successfully made it back in time for a class picture before enjoying the big dinner that was provided as part of our registration. They had a bunch of old yearbook photos out in boxes for people to dig through. Brynn was super into it, looking for old pics of auntie Tessa and me and anyone else she thought she might recognize. She found this gem of my BFF Amanda and me. After dinner which was in the 'new' gymnasium, as it's called, we wandered upstairs to take a look around up there and found ourselves in the library. Dana was working on a puzzle that was set up. Clara found a book she wanted to read. My class composite. We went over to Grandma Darlene's house to visit for a bit before we were going to check out the entertainment at the park which was a hair band playing 80s rock music (right up Chad's and my alley!) Brynn was pla...

Summer Bucket List: Item #1

I posted about our summer bucket list in this previous post . Tonight we were able to check our first thing off the list: ride down to the river on our bikes. When we set out, I wasn't quite sure at what point along the way we would be able to get down to the river. There is a bike path across the road from our house which goes north and south along University. We can see the river down along the path and we stopped once we got going  a little ways to see if we could determine a good spot where we could get down closer, but were only met with tall grass. We all feared ticks, so we pressed on up north a ways to see if we could find a different area. We stopped near a little lift station and Brynn spied a path down to the river. Success! It was a beautiful night out with hardly any wind and some nice cloud cover. I only got two mosquito bites and they weren't until we got back into our yard. So, I was pleasantly surprised that it was relatively bug-fre...

Father's Day Weekend

On Friday Dana had Donuts for Dads at preschool with Clara. She was so excited. We started out Father's Day weekend by catching my dad for supper as he was passing through on his way to the lake on Friday night. A couple of weekends ago the slip-n-slide that the the girls had broke, so I bought them a new one. After we got back home from supper with Grandpa they tested it out. Rainy Saturday morning game of Hangman. Daddy and the girls went to see new 'The Incredibles' movie that came out this week. We made brunch for Daddy this morning and to celebrate Father's Day, Dana mostly worked on house projects all day! :--) Gift opening time! Photo Cred: Brynn Daddy's loot. Happy father's day to Dana's dad as well! It didn't work out for us to get together with him for Father's Day this weekend, so hopefully we'll catch up with him soon.

Share A Story

On Saturday we again attended the annual Share a Story literacy event at Rheault Farm. Brynn's friend came with us. And Daniel Tiger was there! Clara was so excited to see him. The night before she was shaking with excitement in her bed. Ha. Then the next morning she was brushing her hair for Daniel Tiger. ;-) Each child could choose a free book to take home. The Red River Zoo had a turtle, Shelly, there to show the kids. There he is! Clara made it this far and then got shy of him. Doing crafts... Buddies Clara asked the fireman how they put out the fires. It was quite warm on Saturday, so I can only imagine how hot Daniel was in his 'fur' and sweatshirt on there. He was about to call it quits for the day, but agreed to one more pic so the three girls could get a photo with him. He is so cute.
