Thanksgiving 2018

Happy Thanksgiving!  We had another wonderful holiday and were so thankful that our families could be here to celebrate with us. (Thank you to Tessa and my mom for some of the photos below.) John and Tessa going head-to-head in the much anticipated Dr. Mario competition.  We were so glad to be able to FaceTime with Brynn's friend, Rosha, and her family who had moved to Seattle a year and a half ago. They had joined us for a couple of Thanksgiving holidays and since they moved, we have been missing them on Turkey Day. Rosha and Brynn chatted for quite a while. I attempted my first cheese board for some appetizers before the main event. My fav was the goat cheese! Sibling teamwork! Dana smoked his bird, Geri, and I baked (roasted?) my stuffed turkey, Tom. None of our guests would commit to a clear answer as to which one they preferred so there seemed to be no clear winner. But, really, with lots of turkey and all the delicious sides every

Pre-Thanksgiving Auntie Christel's Birthday

This time last year I had traveled to Seattle for a work trip and went back again for the same meeting last week. This was the view from my room which seemed to be a little walking trail. I didn't really get to do anything too exciting. On Saturday the girls and I were bell ringers for the Salvation Army kettle at the Cash Wise on 13th Ave. Our "shift" was for two hours. It all started out really well! They lasted probably about an hour and then started to get tired out. Thankfully it seemed many people were shopping for Thanksgiving, so we did have decent traffic at least. Clara in the tub...with lots of bubbles! I returned from Seattle on Thursday and then worked Friday and took off this whole past week. I had such a great time. On Monday I did some shopping downtown and made it to some stores that I have wanted to check out but never have made it to before. I was able to get caught up on some other errands and get some stuff done in pre

Halloween 2018

Well, there went another successful Halloween!  Again this year we held a costume and office space decoration contest at my office. This year I won best costume! I went as Harry Potter from the Harry Potter book series. If  you think that sounds familiar, indeed it is as Brynn was going as one of the other characters, Hermione Granger. And now the kids! We had a nice sized group come trick-or-treating at the office this year. Not pictured is Clara as she was not cooperating to join the group. One of my co-workers put together a zombie body parts guessing game. We played during the day and then left it out for the kids when they came by. They all seemed to get a kick out of feeling "tongue, skin, ears, fingers, brains and drool." Haha. I didn't get very many good pictures of how I had my office decorated, but you can kind of see my spooky skeleton guy...holding an Almond Joy candy bar. hehe. That's real dirt in the 'grave!
