Fourth of July

Unrelated to the Fourth holiday, but I thought I'd just stick this in this post...on June 26th we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. I was especially surprised to get flowers, a card and a treat because we are headed to Vegas to celebrate this coming Friday.

Dana's original wedding ring is made of stainless steel and therefore is unable to be resized. He hasn't worn it for many years as it no longer fit him. I had an idea to get him a silicone ring for our anniversary and thought I'd surprise him with it in Vegas. About a week ago, he shared with me that he had the same idea. I thought for sure I'd beat him to the punch and be able to surprise him after all, even though I knew he was now on the hunt for one. Whelp, the rings we each ordered arrived to our doorstep on the same day. :-/ So, that's out. If anyone has any recommendations for a backup gift, I am all ears. :-)

Ok! Onto the Fourth. On Wednesday night we did some fireworks in our yard in the midst of a storm rolling through.

On Thursday we were invited back to Tamarack Lake again with Tessa and Chad's family.
Sissies!

Chad's brother's daughter Prairie and Clara are a week apart in age. Between being at Cousin Camp together and time spent over the Fourth, they have gotten pretty chummy. They really are so cute together. We had to get auntie's pic again this year with the two blondies.

Clara kept asking Ben to play with her, but he was wearing down fast and getting sleepy toward the end of the day. He's always so nice to her; it's no wonder she likes to play with him.

These three musketeers here hardly gave Chad's uncle, Keith, a break from tubing. It was such a beautiful day out that day.

Clara was getting pretty tired herself on the way home.

Friday we had planned to just hang out at home and do a few things. One of the things Clara has been talking about was taking the training wheels off her bike. She didn't last too long after she tipped over in the grass and the pedal scraped her toenail. Better luck next time!

It rained off and on that day, so it was a good opportunity to take in a movie. We went to Toy Story 4 and ate our weight in popcorn. The movie was so good; I cried for about half of it. :( Uff.

We were back at the lake on Saturday - Dead Lake this time. All the Froemming side hadn't gotten together for Christmas this past year, so we made up for that on Saturday. It was a nice day to be back at the lake.

Someone brought rhubarb and pineapple slushes. So good!

Bryce is the same age as Brynn so they had fun hanging out together. Bryce is super into fishing, so Brynn joined in with him.

Another little cousin and the girls got a hold of some bug zappers that basically looked like rackets. I had never seen anything like them before, but they actually seemed to work pretty well. The girls had fun taking care of the bugs in the yard.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! January + Valentine's Day + CATS!

We ARE still alive over here and have not frozen to death. Here's what we've been up to for the past month and a half! Brynn and Hubert at the OG (Olive Garden): 'Lady and the Tramp' style. haha. Taking in a Force game...with extra fighting. It was very exciting. One Sunday when Clara was at a sleepover, the three of us went to Black Coffee Waffle Bar after church and then for some crepes and boba at Tea & Crepe. Then Brynn and I went prom dress shopping which was really fun. She did find a dress she loves so that was a relief. This is not the one she chose, but she tried on quite a few nice ones. Clara made crowns for the king and I (me). Clara had to write an essay to be considered for the robotics team at school. She waited for at least a couple of weeks to learn if she was accepted, and unfortunately was not. She was pretty disappointed, but she does have a chance to reapply next year when she's a fifth grader, and won't have to write another essay. I th...
