First Day of School 2019

I'll just cut to the chase that Brynn had a great first day of middle school! I dropped her off this morning for the first day, but normally she'll ride the bus to and from school now. We were trying to ascertain the other night where exactly her pick-up and drop-off bus stop was and it appeared to be into the next neighborhood which has no reasonable way to enter into from our street. I spoke with the bus coordinator and he agreed, so they put her on one of the rural buses which will pull up right at our cul-de-sac, so that was great news. Brynn had been lamenting about riding for what she deemed as too long, so I had to remind her how when I was a kid (yup, I went there! 😉), I rode the bus home for an hour and fifteen minutes. I'm not sure I really connected with her on my perspective...but I tried! We did our first-day-of-school pics on the front step. Clara wanted her pic too, though they don't really have a start date for preschool per se. However, because the...

End of summer

Here we go into the start of a new school year and there goes summer. It has certainly started to feel more like fall weather outside lately. I can't say that I mind it, though. I love fall; I just don't care for what it leads into. :-/ Not last weekend, but the weekend before, Dana and Clara headed to the lake and Brynn and I stayed behind. We were going to tackle school supplies shopping and more! First up on our list for Saturday morning was a Xabeat dance-exercise class at Courts Plus. Brynn seemed to tire pretty early on and I told her she could sit out for the rest of the class if she wanted, but she stayed the course and finished it out. The instructor gave her a high five at the end for doing such a good job keeping up with us. Dana asked her if she was "xa-tired." #dadjokes   Our next stop before we set out to do some shopping was lunch at DQ. Brynn had been wanting to make this cookie recipe which is a type of chocolate chip cookie, but w...

Clara's 5th Birthday

Clara was anxiously awaiting her fifth birthday, counting down the days. She had chosen a rainbow theme for her party which was pretty fun. Dana and I surprised her at school last Friday during their treats. Brynn was able to join as well. Clara and her school buddies...and Brynn. :-) She wanted to bring cupcakes for her birthday treat. Luckily I happened to find rainbow and unicorn ones at the store. Clara wanted to go out to her fav restaurant for her birthday dinner. It was goood! Auntie came to stay the night before the party and the girls were pretty excited to spend some extra time with her. We had been saving our Scoopy Token coupons for a long time which scored the girls a kickball! They aired it up in the back for them and everything. Pretty awesome. Getting ready for the party with some rainbow tats. Cake done! Our sweet birthday girl!  She was such a riot when she was blowing out her candles. ...
