Cousin Camp 2021

To that that the cousin campers were ecstatic to be back at Cousin Camp this year is an understatement...at least I know for the Froemming cousins that was the case. They were crushed last year when we weren't able to have it. This year's theme was the Olympics.

My cousin dropped her granddaughter off at our house Thursday afternoon so she was able to ride with us to camp. It was so great to have her this year!

We had the usual schedule of running from 2:00 on Friday until Saturday at 12:30.

Before the opening ceremonies, the campers decorated their camp shirts and team flags.

After that we got into the team competitions first of which was a frozen shirt contest where each team sprayed warm water on a shirt that was frozen into a pan until it was thawed enough to put on one of your team mates. It was girls against boys and the girls took that one.

One of my favs...Cheeto Hair!

I love the cooking challenge as it is so neat to see what the kids put together. They did not disappoint this year either.

Tessa resurrected her gutter so we could reprise the ten-foot gutter sundae again. The campers really go wild for that one.

Chubby Bunny

Brynn was victorious for the second year in a row.

Day Two we started out with a craft which all the kids seemed to enjoy.

After the craft we did more games, but on an individual basis this time.

The most entertaining event was these bebop balls. More of that in the video at the end. Camp Counselor Tessa I went head to head and I gotten taken down early on. Super fun, though.

Prepping another counselor fav, Fear Factor Food Challenge. Tessa was cookin' up some flaming Cheetos mac and cheese and I was sauteeing some tofu. Bon Appetit!

Ben was proud that he made it to the end this year. Well done, campers!

Winners!

Cousin Camp Time Capsule

The girls started to attempt to dig the whole for the time capsule, but ultimately decided to have Chad use some equipment to make the job easier and faster. The plan is to dig it up in 20 years!

2021 Cousin Camp Counselors!

Of course we had to get Rosa's for dinner on Saturday night. :-D

Sweet girls hanging out by the fire on Saturday night.

We all sure had a blast and are so grateful that Auntie Tessa was willing to plan and host camp again this year.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
