Brynn's Birthday Celebration at Kohl's Resort

The girls ended up having a storm day on Friday, so we were able to head up to Kohl's earlier in the day than we had originally planned which was great as it allowed us to drive most of the way while it was still light out. Brunch at Red Stu on Saturday morning was amazing, as expected. We shared our dishes so we all got to try a bit of everything. Dad and Clara picked up Brynn's cake (the same lady who made the Among Us cake last year did this cake as well) while Brynn and I got our nails done. Brynn was able to ice skate for a little while though the wind had picked up in the afternoon and it was started to get pretty chilly on the lake. Clara and I swam for a bit and then the girls had some ice cream in the lodge before we met Uncle John and Auntie Christel for dinner at the Chophouse. After dinner we drove the three miles over to auntie and uncles to hang out and visit. Brynn was testing out her new Sharpie marker set she received for her birthday. ...and getting kitty snug

Our oldest baby turns 14 today! Of course it's emotional for me every year when one of the girls turns a year older, and mostly I'm excited to see how they're maturing and growing. This past year in particular, though, Brynn has seemed to change so much... We are so proud of the young woman she is becoming. She has so many goals and plans that she is making for herself. She has matured in so many positive ways. The other night we were helping her register for high school next year. She's looking into getting her driver's permit and thinking about getting a part-time job. I love getting to know the woman she is turning out to be.  We hope and pray 14 is your best year yet, Brynnie! We love you so much. Grandpa and Grandma Dietz took Brynn out for a birthday dinner at Porter Creek last night. Dad offered to stop at McDonald's for a birthday lunch after church this morning. I had just picked up some cake pops at Jen's Bakery to have a little birthday treat on h

The beginning of 2022

Big sister helping little sister get a hair tie out of her hair. With the extremely cold temperatures we've been having lately, the kids had a delayed start to school one day and ended up with no school on Friday. So, I worked from home both of those days. Clara kept herself busy by holding school for her stuffed animal friends. Getting ready to head out to shovel off the deck. We are registering for high school over here! Ack! It was really interesting going through the different course options as even at a high school level for public education, they have some really fun and tailored choices, from art to business, photography, graphic design and engineering.  Clara started winter (indoor!) soccer on Saturday. She'll have practice on Thursdays and then a game on every Saturday from now through February. Brynn made chocolate chip scones yesterday and they turned out amazingly. Brynn and I went to the Arch Allies concert at the Fargo Theater last night. They're a tribute b
