Photo 365 Challenge

Normally I am not a typical new years resolutions or new year, new me type of person, but I did decide to do a Photo 365 Challenge this year: one photo every day for a year.

I am hoping this will grow my photography skills that I use both personally and professionally as I push myself to overcome some obstacles and weaknesses I see in my photography.

So far I've felt like one challenge that I seem to encounter is that I am at my office at work for most of the daylight hours. But, I am going to try and use that as a way to get more creative in what I take pictures of and work on some things that I have found difficult to master in photography, like shooting in low lighting.

My plan is to post a week's worth of pics at a time so I am not overwhelmed with hundreds of photos to go through and edit at the end of the year.

Tessa decided to join me as well so I'm excited to follow along on her journey at the same time.

My first day back in the office after a (wonderful) two-week holiday break.

Brynn and I have always wanted to do this when it has been cold enough outdoors. And indeed it was the other day as sub-zero temperatures provided us with a perfect opportunity. I rushed home from work in hopes of using the last bit of sunlight before it got dark.

Clara and Adria spend hours 'playing' together over FaceTime.

Oh my gosh, love, love them! I spy your spreadsheet tumbler :) Love the water in the cold photo and the above-the-counter view on the photo of Brynn baking. Can't wait to see all them as you go along!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
