Hunting Trip + Pumpkin Patch + Confirmation Retreat + Nature Scavenger Hunt

Poor Brynn was under the weather last week and ended up missing about three days of school. :-( It must have just been a bug or something as I did take her for a COVID test which thankfully came back negative. She pretty much was holed up in the spare bedroom for four days straight.

I attempted to make her a single serving of one of her favs, chicken pot pie.

Clara wanted to get a fire going the other night for some reading outside before bed.

Clara and I took a walk through Briarwood on Tuesday while dinner was in the oven.

Clara helped Dad make monster cookies to take up north on his hunting trip.

Once Brynn started to feel like herself again, she got a little wacky. haha. (She was removing her acrylic nails.)

Dana left on Wednesday for a hunting trip with his dad and Grandma Holly came up to stay on Thursday. Brynn and Brooklyn left on Friday for a weekend church retreat.

Grandma took Clara out for some fun on Saturday morning.

Thanks, Grandma!

In the afternoon we brought Adria to the pumpkin patch with us. It was chilly, but I think the girls had a good time.

They wanted to do a serious one. Ha.

Must have been a pretty taxing day, huffing those pumpkins around and all. ;-)

Dana sent some great pics from their trip.

I was scouring the Hope Confirmation social media accounts as they were posting photos and video from the weekend, but alas, no footage of Brynn popped up, so here are couple general ones that I saw. Both she and Brooklyn reported that they had a good time when I picked them up.

Clara and I forting this afternoon...

Then we decided to go on a nature scavenger hunt. BRRR!

I'm so glad Brynn is back to feeling herself again (even if she is wacky, haha). Love me some reading by the fire! That is such a cool life-sized lite brite thing. I'm dying over Clara & Adria's "serious" photo. And the bath one, ha! Wow, kudos to Dana for great pics from the hunting trip - looked like fun and beautiful scenery!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
