November

We got done celebrating Halloween and got a wild hair on Dios de los Muertos (Mexican holiday, Day of the Dead) to celebrate at Plaza Azteca.

Clara has been elated to get together with her friends at the park near school or at each other's houses after school lately.

These two are sisters, one of whom is in Clara's class. They are super sweet and put on a show for me the other day.

When Grandma Darlene passed away, Brynn inherited her car to drive when she got her license. Since she's pretty close now, we went to my parents' lake where they had been kindly storing it for us to bring her home. Hubert, Dana and Brynn spent a whole afternoon one Sunday getting it all tuned up. After Dana fixed a coolant leak, she's running great.

Clara had more friends over the same Sunday that the rest of the gang was working on the car.

The girls' school pics from this year.

Clara's school FINALLY had a music program that we were able to attend! It was so fantastic and they all sounded great together. The entire third grade sang songs for a Veterans Day program.

They also wrote letters for the veterans in their lives.

Dad and Clara making scones.

I told Brynn and Hubert it looked like they were twinning on this day.

Doing sister's hair after bath time.💜

Hubert was making French toast.

One of Brynn's art class assignments.

Clara's school hosted a skate night so she and Dana took that in.
One of Clara's other friends invited her to a crafternoon at the library. They made this stained glass jelly fish project.

Brynn showed me this pic one of her friends took of her lunch. It made me giggle because she is such a fiend for cantaloupe...and muffins.

Last weekend we went out to Hurdsfield for the family fun night that they have each year at the community center.

They have the best sunsets out there!

Casselton cousins were staying too so everyone had a fun time together.

Out for a chilly stroll.

Auntie made chocolate chip cookies with Clara. They were so yummy.

Oh, these blue-eyed beauties! 😍

Playing bingo after having the best knephla soup ever!

Speaking of chocolate chip cookies, I asked Brynn and Hubert if they would make some and they obliged.

We had great weather this past week, with the exception of one horrendously windy day.

My Thanksgiving break that I took off of work started Thursday at 5:00. Woohoo! I was doing a little R&D on a lunch date with Dana to see what drinks we might want to serve on Thanksgiving.

I'm so glad we were able to get a side-by-side ride in yesterday; it was just gorgeous and the fresh air felt so good.

Dad and Clara went to the show at the MSUM planetarium this afternoon.

See you on the other side of Thanksgiving! 🦃 We have so much to be thankful for.

Ah, love it all! Yes, so much to be thankful for indeed. The girls' school pics turned out great. Elise's favorite fruit is also cantaloupe! Can't wait to celebrate with you all tomorrow!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! January + Valentine's Day + CATS!

We ARE still alive over here and have not frozen to death. Here's what we've been up to for the past month and a half! Brynn and Hubert at the OG (Olive Garden): 'Lady and the Tramp' style. haha. Taking in a Force game...with extra fighting. It was very exciting. One Sunday when Clara was at a sleepover, the three of us went to Black Coffee Waffle Bar after church and then for some crepes and boba at Tea & Crepe. Then Brynn and I went prom dress shopping which was really fun. She did find a dress she loves so that was a relief. This is not the one she chose, but she tried on quite a few nice ones. Clara made crowns for the king and I (me). Clara had to write an essay to be considered for the robotics team at school. She waited for at least a couple of weeks to learn if she was accepted, and unfortunately was not. She was pretty disappointed, but she does have a chance to reapply next year when she's a fifth grader, and won't have to write another essay. I th...
