Prom, S'mores + Stars

Clara and her friend Cora were serving snacks from their 'cafe' to Hubert and Brynn after school one day. (Hopefully the fridge door wasn't open for too long. 😑) I think the cafe was something about four c's: Cora and Clara's Cafe...obviously I'm missing one of the Cs somewhere.

Brynn made another dish at Clay Your Way...and then assembled a cute and delicious-looking snack plate on it.

When we went to Hurdsfield for Oliver's birthday we were able to watch Reagan get ready for her prom and even attended the grand march. She looked so beautiful!

Girl cousins!

We adults placed a wager on how many bobby pins Chad removed from Reagan's up-do. I won with a guess of 55 or something like that. There were 45, I believe.

The girls didn't have school this past Monday, so Cora came for a sleepover on Sunday night. S'mores supplies were on sale at the grocery store so I stocked up. Cora and Clara did some stargazing (actually I think they were trying to find the moon) and made s'mores.

Brynn took the s'mores stuff over to Hubert's and they made s'mores over there too.

We had a couple really nice days this week, in between some crazy wind. Clara and I walked down to the river.

I was able to help at the last day of book club at Clara's school. They met on Thursday mornings before school for four weeks and had such a good turnout. Clara's bummed that it's over now, but I told her she should start her own now and keep it going!

They were finally able to have a couple of tennis games this week. Brynn and her partner/friend won both their matches. Yay! Off to a great start. I haven't attended yet, but hope to be able to go watch her play this next week. I think Brynn wanted to get going a little bit before anyone came to watch her. Go Lady Eagles! 🎾

Brynn's snack plate does indeed look delicious! So glad you guys could come take in the prom doings :) It looks like lots of friend fun for Clara & Cora. Sweet. I'm so glad for both a book club update and a tennis update! Congrats on your first win, Brynn!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
