Spring

I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do on the blog here.

I'll start with the Chris Stapleton concert we went to in Grand Forks with Tessa, Chad, Cody (Chad's brother) and Tia. Tessa had made a dinner reservation for us at the Blue Moose. It was really good.

I do like Chris Stapleton's music so I enjoyed the concert. He sounded great.

I will cover all the April birthday festivities in a separate post, but Clara went to stay at Duck Lake with Grandpa and Grandma Dietz while Dana and I went to Tessa's birthday Bunco party. Of course she stayed pretty busy between card games, the library and sewing.

Doing homework...

I love that Brynn still enjoys drawing and doing art.

It's Pascal from the Disney Tangled movie.

Clara tagged along to Dead Lake with Dana to get our jet skiis into the water. It was a beautiful weekend for weather and now this week we've barely made it through this wind and colder temps.

Our first deck date of the season. No bugs yet!

While Dana and Clara were at the lake, I took Brynn and her friend out for dinner at one of my fav downtown places: 46 North Pints & Provisions.

Having a cookie on my walk.

I got Brynn out on the deck with me for a bit.

Hahaha - oops!

I keep seeing this shirt on Facebook and it cracks me up every time. I think Brynn thinks it to be lame. Don't care.

Sunday night we did DIY pizza and some of us chose calzones.

...including me. They turned out so good.

Hubert went the traditional route.

Brynn came home early from school one day not feeling well and Hubert brought over some flowers and a Squishmallow. The gifts definitely lifted her spirits!

A scene from Friday (April 19th). :-(

Brynn's tennis season has started, and she is playing this year, instead of managing. Unfortunately they've already cancelled the first two matches due to weather.

That pic of Clara doing her homework is great - so grown up! I spy your Wells Co Bears sweatshirt! I have seen that saying but not the t-shirt and I think it is great as well :) Yummy calzones!! Good luck in tennis Brynn! I hope the weather pans out for some matches.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
