September So Far

I have a lot of catching up to do on here.....

Labor Day weekend, we spent some time at Dead Lake. Clara and I rode my jet ski together....I think possibly for the only time this year. 😜 It was pretty windy, but we still had a good time. Dana got both of ours ready for winter storage.

On Sunday we got together at my parents' lake to celebrate my mom's birthday. Little piggy here was ready to party!

I was happily on fish fry duty with Elise. I get to snitch that way.

Happy birthday, Mom! 💜

Oh goodness, did that go quickly! Thirteen years ago I posted on Facebook a pic of Brynn in Grandpa's new Chevelle, captioning it 'only 13 more years, Brynn, and you can drive it.' She had a blast taking it for a spin.

Dana had the ATVs with him, so Brynn and I tooled around Lake Park in the side-by-side.

We ended up at Hotel Shoreham for dinner. I had been wanting to check it out for a while, but we just hadn't made our way there yet. It was a fun place and they had great food. We all said we'd go back again. (Our old nanny, Taylor, works there so we got to say hi to her.)

Clara was able to spend the night and had some fun at the park and a stop at The Ranch for lunch before coming back home on Monday.

I think this was Monday night, the three of us biked down to the orchard.

Last weekend we spent the weekend at our friends' house in Sartell. Their son, Zander, who is our godchild is a senior this year so Roger and I did some senior pics of him.

Jessica taught Clara how to crochet. And Jessica gave her a crocheted blanket as a birthday gift.

Out doing pics.

Clara and I walked over to a nice park and hung out by the river for a while in the afternoon.

Brynn and I went with Hubert's family to his football game this past Monday night. Go Eagles!

Some recent pics of Clara from school.

They were matched with their kindergarten buddies. I remember Brynn having one and then getting one! I think I remember Clara having an older buddy when she was in kindergarten as well. So cute.

Wow, yes, lots happening in September already and the month is only half over! The car picture of Brynn is so great; gah, I can't believe all that time has gone by! I am dying at the picture of Clara and Dad at the Ranch, ha. Also fun to see the school pics of Clara!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
