Fall Stuff

Since I have about a month's worth of blog content, I had to just sum up the post title with "fall stuff."

Clara had a walk-a-thon to raise money for her school back in September. I came and walked with her a bit. It was a beautiful day for it.

We celebrated Kevin's birthday a bit early ahead of the guys' grouse hunting trip up north.

Lake Park was having its annual Pumpkin Days which included food, parade, car show, games and more. So, Dana brought his truck and I brought the Camaro for the car show and we took in all the other festivities as well.

Brynn and Hubert drove over for a bit.

I was waiting for the car show prize announcements to start....not so patiently waiting. Haha. I was getting too warm!

After a rest post-parade, we took the t-tops off the Camaro and met Mom and Dad and Clara for Pizza Ranch in Detroit Lakes. It was so fun to have the t-tops off and ride just Dana and me.

Dana and I were relaxing on the deck after we had returned from Pumpkin Days and Hubert and Brynn got home and were showing us their matching PJs they bought and loot from Kingpinz.

Grandma Holly came to stay while the guys were gone hunting. She and Clara made brownies, a denim bag out of an old pair of jeans and went shopping.

I just know Clara thought she looked like Carmen Sandiego in this pic. Haha. She's been into watching the show lately.

Pics Dana took of their trip...

Clara had Friday off of school and I took a day of PTO so it was a Clara/Tara Road Trip down to visit auntie Shelly and uncle Lester in South Dakota.

Of course we had to hit up Wal-Mart: Shelly's all-time favorite shopping spot. We found a deal on some Cheerios. LOL.

We had so much fun visiting, playing cards and with Clara and Shelly's monkeys.

We made a stop at Buzzn. It was as delicious as ever.

We got excited when Clara and I discovered this thawing on the counter on Saturday morning. :-D

Clara was supposed to be helping with chimis, but was distracted watching Lester's show. Haha.

I definitely was not on top of my fry game as I burnt myself a total of three times.

We got back late Saturday night and on Sunday Clara was off to her friend's house for a sleepover since they had Monday off of school as well. Shelly had given Clara this piggy bag. It reminded me of Grandma Darlene.

Book fair time!

Clara's school book fair is held during conferences. We had a good visit with and report from Clara's teacher. I had to include this worksheet Clara filled out; it was so cute.

Tessa and Chad invited us to attend the Farm Bureau Gala last Friday night. So, we got all dressed up and took the Camaro out. Brynn did my hair for me.

I got such a kick out of how similar style Tessa's and my dresses were. She looked amazing!

The Front Fenders played which was fun and we got to dance a little.

Dana played cowbell for one song. Haha. He did great.

Trying to make sure we get a picture with our eyes open and smiling enough. Ha.

I had such a handsome date!

On Saturday, Tia, Tessa and I went on about a two-mile hike in Maplewood State Park. Thankfully we were able to get a lift from a passerby vehicle as we were running out of time with no quick way back to my car.

After I got back, Dana and I got ready for a date night that we had planned. Clara was at Grandpa and Grandma Froemmings' for the weekend, so we thought we'd make the most of it.

We had been wanting to visit Bear Creek Winery for a long time as it is on one of our side-by-side routes when we go out and it always looks so inviting. However the timing had never worked out for when they were open. So, this time we made a point to get there before they were closing.

We took a quick ride over in the side-by-side.

It was so much fun there and so pretty. We didn't have enough time to do so, but you can walk around this pond and even sit down by there, play games, etc. We definitely want to go back again.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating below on the main level and up on the upper level as well. We opted for upstairs outdoor balcony. We each tried a wine flight and ordered a cheese plate. The weather was perfect.

All the wine and food was so good.

After Bear Creek we weren't very hungry for dinner yet so we stopped at 701 Eatery for a drink and ended up sitting by the fire for a long time. Thanks to the Bison/Jacks game, we were the only ones up on the deck/patio area.

When we were finally hungry for dinner we ended up at Rhombus Guys. Always good!

We thought about seeing a comedy show afterward, but instead watched the new Beetlejuice movie at home. It was good and I managed to stay awake for the whole thing!

We're looking forward to Halloween! We still have to make our trip out to the pumpkin patch, carve the pumpkins and take our Halloween preview pics! 😀

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! January + Valentine's Day + CATS!

We ARE still alive over here and have not frozen to death. Here's what we've been up to for the past month and a half! Brynn and Hubert at the OG (Olive Garden): 'Lady and the Tramp' style. haha. Taking in a Force game...with extra fighting. It was very exciting. One Sunday when Clara was at a sleepover, the three of us went to Black Coffee Waffle Bar after church and then for some crepes and boba at Tea & Crepe. Then Brynn and I went prom dress shopping which was really fun. She did find a dress she loves so that was a relief. This is not the one she chose, but she tried on quite a few nice ones. Clara made crowns for the king and I (me). Clara had to write an essay to be considered for the robotics team at school. She waited for at least a couple of weeks to learn if she was accepted, and unfortunately was not. She was pretty disappointed, but she does have a chance to reapply next year when she's a fifth grader, and won't have to write another essay. I th...
