Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.

Always reading. ๐Ÿ’œ

Hanging out with Brynn. ๐Ÿ’—

Dana and I went on a Costco date.

We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time.

Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her

We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts.

I don't recall what was so funny. haha.

Clara's card.

Birthday King

Clara dyed eggs.

I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece.

Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out.

On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter.

Oliver is 9!

In a shocking turn of events, most of the kids ended up in the lake...of their own volition! I hawked this off of Chad's SnapChat.

Decorating the Easter Tree (with Stuffy Jesus supervising).

Filling eggs.

Hiding the eggs.

Searching for baskets.

Dana made the executive decision to go to Easter service at Tingvold Lutheran Church just up the road from the lake. It was a really nice service and we were welcomed by the pastor and offered quilts to keep warm and cozy in the pews!

Clara went up front for the children's sermon.

We maybe should have opted for indoor photos as it was a bit breezy.

Thanks for hosting us for Easter, Holly and Kevin!

Holly made a delicious ham (and sides) and Dana sliced it up.

More birthday celebration!

Playing "golf."

Clara got these scratch and sketch sheets (you use a wooden pencil and draw on a black chalkboard type of coated sheet to reveal colors underneath) in her Easter basket and shared one with Brynn. It turned out so cool.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
