September

When Brynn was in 8th grade, their class wrote letters to themselves that they would open once they were seniors. School staff must have sent them right to the high school for safe keeping because a few weeks ago, Brynn got hers back and read through it.

I had perfect weather for visiting a grower with my drone for work last month.

Clara spent a night at Grandpa and Grandma Dietz's and did all sorts of activities.

Family walk!

Brynn ran into this bunch shopping at the mall. 😄 I was so tickled to get this pic from auntie - as much as Brynn was to bump into them.

This nomad cat has been showing up around our cul-de-sac, but he does not like me, unfortunately. :-( His tag even says that he's not lost, he just likes to roam. Ha. (I only know that because he actually let our neighbor catch him.)

Clara and I have been going to some Davies football games while it's been so nice out.

Brynn has been accepted at both NDSU and UND. Yay! We visit UND next Friday, so it will be interesting to compare to our NDSU visit.

Dana and I took a side-by-side ride down south one Sunday afternoon.

Clara and I did some bookstore browsing ahead of crepes and the Cat Video Fest downtown.

Clara had her last walk-a-thon last week!

Clara and I attended a Cub Scouts informational meeting last week and she asked to get signed up right away. We still have to get her uniform, but her first den (or is it pack?) meeting is next week.

We took in some of Pumpkin Fest in Lake Park on Saturday. This was after the parade where Clara made an absolute haul on candy.

We celebrated Grandpa Kevin's birthday early last Sunday. Happy birthday, Grandpa!

Brynn showing us her poetry slide presentation for her creative writing class.

We went to parent-teacher conferences for Brynn last night and spotted her in her class photo. Happy to report she is doing great so far this year!

Brynn bought some white erase board contact paper (I didn't even know anything like that existed!) to put up to help her study for her anatomy class. I think I spy a frowny face at the bottom - ha.

Ahh, I love this post so much! Lots going on. We were so excited to run into Brynn at the mall, too. I am dying at the cat's tag. Ha! CONGRATS to Brynn on her acceptance at UND and NDSU! I am waiting with bated breath to hear about her UND tour and see what she thinks of each compared to each other. Wow, what bookstore was that downtown? Lots of selection! I love Clara's tennis pullover. How exciting about Cub Scouts! What fun! Was Dana in the parade? I didn't know that dry erase paper was a thing, either, so cool. Looks like she is working hard!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
