Tennis, Scouts, Performances, Birthdays

Clara and I attended a production of 'The Sound of Music' at NDSU. I'm not usually one for musicals...or necessarily live, but this was absolutely fantastic. Clara loves the movie, so she got really into it.

The following day Clara and Dana got up early to attend a Scout Badge Camp at NDSCS in Wahpeton. Clara chose the welding and plumbing tracks. Very useful! Dana had a good time too.

Giving Ms. Ainsley's kitty some pets after Clara's piano lesson.

Tennis has started for Brynn. They've had some windy, some cold and warm weather already. This is Brynn's partner Daysha. They've been playing really well so far this season. It's always fun to watch...unless it's foul weather. I still like to watch them play - it's just a little less enjoyable.

We celebrated Dana's birthday!

And then celebrated Oliver's as well....and a little bit more for Dana.

Oliver had a very fun and timely space theme: Artemis II!

Tennis girls freezing.

Tennis girls cozy. Instead of practice one day, they watched a movie and could come in their PJs.

We were over at the middle school for a visit to help prepare for the transition!

Clara had her fifth grade music performance which was very lively with much dancing and instruments. They did a fantastic job and Clara was very energetic. It made me wonder whose kid was up there whoopin' it up because that was not Dana or I at that age.

Clara did a great job with her piano recital pieces.

This past Sunday morning Clara participated in a bake sale and pancake feed at Atonement Church (which is where they hold their regular troop meetings) for a Scouting fundraiser.

Another chilly/windy day of tennis spectating.

Brynn also attended her senior prom the midst of all the goings on so I will post that separately!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
