Christmas

Merry Christmas! We had another wonderful Christmas which was spent with Dana's family. This coming weekend we will celebrate Christmas with my side.

It's always sort of a concern of mine if Brynn will understand what Christmas is really about, but Uncle John was gracious enough to share his own birthday cake with Jesus upon Brynn's suggestion. She even sang Him happy birthday.

We hope everyone else had a great Christmas, too!

'Snow White' from Grandpa and Grandma

Brynn's own laptop from Grandpa and Grandma.

The princess castle!!!

Best. Picture. Ever. LOL

The ornament Brynn made for us in preschool. It was the cutest thing!

Daddy and Uncle John trying to set up the 50+-piece castle.

Getting Santa's cookies ready.

Making sure Santa has enough milk.

New pajamas from Santa!

Boo! Tape!

Brynn was excited to receive the gift she had asked for from Santa: a Cinderella ornament.

Talking jammies with Papa Kevin while trying on her new jammies.

Brynn received this Rapunzel wedding  gown from Auntie Christel and Uncle John. Here she is in front of the castle.

She also received Prince Phillip (shown here) from us. He is also doubling as Prince Charming.

Working on the gingerbread house tonight.

Don't mind the food-stained face. Had to take a break for some Christmas cookies in the middle of the decorating. :-)

She looks perfect in her dress and shawl! I love that outfit! Setting up that princess castle looks similar, but more involved than setting up Reagan's My Little Pony castle (which auntie Cindy kindly helped her assemble). Yay for a new Little Critter book! I didn't know she asked for a princess ornament. That picture of her next to the castle in her get-up is hilarious. And that last pic of her with her gingerbread house is so cute. Merry Christmas!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
