The Weekend

We had a busy, but nice weekend around home. Friday night we had our friends, Ryan and Tina, over with their seven-month-old baby. She is so cute and sweet. She and Brynn had a lot of fun together.

I don't have pics, but on Saturday Brynn and I also attended a baby shower for Dana's cousin's wife at Grandma Holly and Papa Kevin's house. Also on Saturday, my parents drove up for the day to take in the Toppers Car show and met us for lunch and came over for supper.

We had a nice, relaxing day today baking bread and making a cake and cupcakes.

Brynn and Molly

Another game of Memory. Brynn loves to play, but REALLY hates to lose. :-)

Brynn just loves to give Daddy breakfast in bed. And this morning she wanted to bring him his cereal. I think we woke him up. Surprise, Dad!

Daddy loves a good back scratchin'.

My sister had bought me one of my favs: cinnamon swirl bread from Bread Poets in Bismarck. We polished it off last week and everyone was very sad when it was gone. So, we tried to make it on our own. I'd say it's not quite up to par with Bread Poets, but I'm hoping for more cinnamon/sugar as we get further along in the loaf.

You have to try making french toast with that cinnamon swirl bread you made - that is so yummy! Those pics of Brynn bringing Dana breakfast are hilarious. I also didn't know Brynn was so competitive with her games!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
