Memorial Weekend

We had a nice Memorial Weekend which was mostly spent around home. On Sunday we did head down to Fergus/Ashby, MN for a graduation party and spent the night at Dana's parents that night.

Monday Rosha was able to come over to play in the afternoon. Brynn was so excited. I should have taken a picture of it because they emptied out about 95% of the contents in Brynn's room and set up shop in the family room. They were having a good time.

My cousin from St. Cloud was passing through on his way back home. So, he stopped and ate supper with us...which I was glad he did, as he'll be moving to Arizona within a week or so and then I won't see him very often.

Girly girl Brynn.

Brynn and Rosha dancing.

My cousin Jon and me. Luckily he crouched down so that both of us could fit in the picture.

When we were at Grandpa and Grandma Froemmings', Brynn helped Grandma Holly plant in her garden and then they planted this geranium together. Brynn got to bring it home and has her set schedule of when Grandma told her to water it. She has a great memory, so I know she won't forget.
I think she looks like Auntie Christel in this picture.

"Daddy's Tree," as we call it, is in full bloom!

Rosha will be at home during the summer months and not at preschool with Brynn starting next week. So, Brynn made her a book for her last day (which actually isn't until Friday). It was a monster cat chasing a dog-man and it says "I'm a monster cat. I'm a chase you."

Daddy was mowing lawn tonight and Brynn has taken it upon herself to sweep the clippings after Daddy mows now. She's such a little worker.

Work time over! Rosha came to play.

Off to the park.

Another preschool family frequents the park in the evenings as well.
The mom of the little girl made dandelion crowns for the girls. It was so sweet!

Brynn reading to Rosha the book  that she had made for her.

My lilacs are in full bloom now, too. Love them!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
