Fargo Force Game

This weekend we hung around home. It's always nice for us to spend a weekend getting things done and just being at home. Brynn probably sees it more as boring, as she asked if Rosha could come play Saturday afternoon. I'm so grateful she has such a good buddy who can come over and play so frequently. It is pretty funny to overhear some of their conversations. They do use their imaginations quite a bit when playing which is illustrated in this story:

I was making supper upstairs and the girls were playing doctor down in Brynn's room. Before starting supper, I had already assisted Nurse Brynn with her patient who was having some pain in her mouth. After surgery, she seemed to be doing better. They must have switched roles when Rosha comes hurrying up the stairs to ask for my help because "Brynn is having a baby, and I don't know how to get it out of her!" Ha! So, I scurried downstairs to find Brynn lying in her bed covered with a big blanket and a lump over her belly where her baby doll was underneath her blanket. :-) I think she had a girl, if I remember correctly. Yes, Cinderella, was her name.

Of course Brynn was pretty disappointed when it was time for Rosha to go home, but that evening we went to Brynn's first Fargo Force hockey game. I received complimentary tickets from a local business that I use both personally and professionally. They were great seats which made it all the more fun. Brynn seemed to think it was pretty exciting and wondered why there were no girl players. I told her I think girls do play hockey (in school anyway) and she decided she would like to play and be the goalie. The only disappointment, other than a loss for the Force, was the foul language we heard on a few instances. :-( There are a lot of other families that attend the games, so I wouldn't have readily expected that. I don't think Brynn heard, though, at least. Probably because she was so busy asking a million questions. he he.

We like attending the Force games as well. My first game I complained to an usher about the language being used around us and I am pretty sure the "gentelmen" were asked to leave. :)

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
