It seems Winter is now upon us. We've gotten some snow that has stuck around and now Brynn bundles up in her snowpants and boots to ride the bus in the morning.
Tomorrow night we're planning on hitting up the Holiday Lights Parade downtown. It's supposed to be pretty chilly, unfortunately.
We are getting ready to host another year of Thanksgiving at our house this week, but here is some of what we've been up to the past couple of weeks.
A couple of weekends ago, our friends from St. Cloud came for a visit with their two kids. Their daughter is 4 and their son is 6, so the three of them play together pretty well.

Working on a game. |
On Friday we got some snow and Brynn was pretty excited. She built this little castle in our yard and then had me come out and find the rocks she had hidden in it.
On Saturday night Grandma Holly was up shopping and spent the night. We made fried bread. I love fried bread, but hadn't made it in a long time.

This afternoon Dana and I went to parent-teacher conferences at Brynn's school. Mrs. Bekkerus (Brynn's teacher) said she is doing well and behaves very well in class and that is she always cracking up at Brynn. She didn't seem too specific about Brynn academically, but since Brynn has started school, at home we have noticed her great progress in reading and writing. Mrs. Bekkerus commented that she gets a kick out of watching Brynn and Rosha together and that they're like two little old ladies.
They work a lot on sentences, books, stories, etc. And Mrs. Bekkerus told us about a nice little story Brynn wrote about how her Daddy *loves* to dress up like a fairy! LOL. She even drew him in a pink tutu and magic wand.
Tonight Brynn asked me, "when will I be old enough to do whatever I want?" This was right before bedtime, so I think the underlying question had more to do with when could she stay up as late as she wants. :-) It's tough being little.
