Talent Show, Wedding and Birthday Party

Friday was the HopeKids After School Program Talent Show. Wow, what a talented group of kids. There was singing, dancing, gymnastics, magic tricks, science experiments, drawings and more. It was so fun. Brynn and her friends Rosha and Lily did a singing and dancing combination to "Let It Go" from the movie Frozen. Here is the video: Talent Show Performance. Brynn was very passionate in her performance, I thought. :-) She did really well. I know they practiced a lot.

Afterward they served root beer floats. Yum!

Some recent drawings. Every day she is drawing or writing something. I love to see what she comes up with.

Tinkerbell

I liked this one because she labeled everything she drew. he he.

Dana was an usher in his good friend's wedding this weekend. Brynn had such a good time attending the ceremony, and of course, the dance. She really latched on to another one of Dana's friends who was also an usher. Too bad he's already married. She was pretty sweet on him by the end of the night. Good thing his wife was generous enough to give up so many dances with him to Brynn. :-)

She was excited to find some dandelions to pick outside the church after the ceremony.

Dana with his friends, the other two ushers.

They love each other. :-)

Daddy did get a few dances in with Brynn at least.

Not the greatest pics since they were taken with Dana's cell phone, but here is Brynn with her buddy, Marko, or Marker as she nicknamed him.

If you can see that tiny blip on his tie, that is one of the dandelions she had picked earlier. She had stuffed them in my purse and dug it out later to give to him. ha.

Our good friend Brenda and me. Her husband, Jared, was best man in our wedding. Brenda is due with their second as well, but is exactly a month ahead of me. I'm hoping that dress is just making me look bigger than I really am. :-)

After dancing all night, we had to get up and head back to Fargo this morning because Brynn would not want to miss Rosha's birthday party!

Sweet friends. Happy Birthday to Rosha!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
