Maternity Pics

I cajoled Dana into taking more pics. Since this baby will be born during the nice-weather summer months, I wanted to try and take the opportunity to take some maternity photos. So, I talked Dana into being the photographer. Tonight turned out to be a beautiful night, minus the skeeter issues. I took a few of just Brynn, too.

BUMPdate while we're at it: I will be 36 weeks tomorrow. I am going weekly now for check-ups with my OB. I have my last progesterone shot next week. My most recent appointment was yesterday. Everything is still looking good. Her estimation is that the baby weighs about 5 1/2 lbs now. She asked me how long I thought I would go to which I guessed that this one would probably be overdue! Ha. She said her guess is that I'll go to 38 weeks. That would be just perfect for me - I feel more immobile by the day. Also, my Braxton Hicks contractions are not increasing in frequency, but they are in intensity. Not sure how educated her guess was, as in I don't know what she is necessarily basing that on, but we shall see, I guess. Oh, and yesterday was how far along I was when Brynn was born. :-)

Dana took these next two at Dead Lake a couple of weeks ago.

You're so beautiful! Prayers of thanks that things are going so well and will continue to go well. Hang in there until at least after the picnic! We'll wait on you.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
