Christmas is coming...

Friday night we made it out for our annual holiday lights tour. We had to take a couple of pics before we left. Snoozy Suzie didn't make it very long before she fell asleep.

Clara has been eating more and more ounces of milk in her bottles and seems to eat quite a bit around supper time. She just stares and watches us eat supper, looking left out. I had wondered then if it was time to start cereal with her. So, we tried a little bit on Friday night.

Down the hatch!

This was probably one of the better, more positive looks that she had on her face throughout the whole ordeal. She seemed to think it was pretty yucky, and then when I picked her up out of the high chair, she spit up what appeared to be the whole works. :-/ Try again later. For now, we're holding off.

Fell asleep in the bouncy chair.

On Saturday Brynn had her first piano recital. It was in Penny's home and even both sets of grandparents got to come watch. She ended up going first and I think was probably a bit nervous, but she did fantastic. Here is the video of her song. Papa Kim videoed for us, and I love how you can hear him tell her good job when she walks back to her seat at the end. ;-)

Brynn's Piano Recital Piece

Brynn and Penny

She's a daddy's girl.

Brynn and I finished up our Christmas baking this afternoon. We didn't get to the fudge, but ended up with three different kinds of cookies, so we're going to settle on that!

The official taste-tester. She looks a little ragged after all the baking and then she burned her hand on a hot pan; note the wash cloth.

Pinterest project! These are the gifts we made after all our cookie baking and frosting. They are for Clara's daycare teachers, Brynn's after school program teachers and Mrs. Stewart (Brynn's first grade teacher). They were pretty fun to make and we were pretty happy with how they turned out.

Little muffin. She is getting to be more fun each day, as more of her personality develops. And so big now. Here are a few quick updates on all things Clara:
  • Last week she rolled onto her stomach from her back unassisted.
  • She is really loud when she gets excited; loves to squeal and hear her own voice.
  • Seems to be a daddy's girl because she is always laughing at him and smiling at him.
  • She also loves big sister and is always watching what she's doing.
  • Very drooly! As you can see in the below pic, blows bubbles a lot. And tries to suck on her own lips or tongue, but basically looks like she's making kisses to you.
  • She really is such a good baby; a good sleeper and eater and so happy.
  • Nicknames: Clara Bear, which is what they said they call her at daycare; Suzie, Snoozy, Muffin
She is modeling the headband I made for her to go with her Christmas dress. I should use the term 'made' loosely here, as all I did was glue that rhinestone piece onto the headband. All she has is some blond fuzz on top, so we needed to adorn her head with something. :-) I love her squishy little feet. I will have to post a picture of her (lack of) wrists. She has no wrists. She is getting even more squeezy now and her arms just go right into her hands. Ha. Also, she has been sucking her thumb the past couple of days and it is so cute!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! January + Valentine's Day + CATS!

We ARE still alive over here and have not frozen to death. Here's what we've been up to for the past month and a half! Brynn and Hubert at the OG (Olive Garden): 'Lady and the Tramp' style. haha. Taking in a Force game...with extra fighting. It was very exciting. One Sunday when Clara was at a sleepover, the three of us went to Black Coffee Waffle Bar after church and then for some crepes and boba at Tea & Crepe. Then Brynn and I went prom dress shopping which was really fun. She did find a dress she loves so that was a relief. This is not the one she chose, but she tried on quite a few nice ones. Clara made crowns for the king and I (me). Clara had to write an essay to be considered for the robotics team at school. She waited for at least a couple of weeks to learn if she was accepted, and unfortunately was not. She was pretty disappointed, but she does have a chance to reapply next year when she's a fifth grader, and won't have to write another essay. I th...
