Christmas #2

On Sunday we celebrated Christmas with Grandpa Kevin's family at Dana's cousin's and his wife's house. Many of those relatives hadn't met Clara yet, and it was nice to get together with everyone. All the relatives thought Clara looks like Auntie Christel. I can't argue with that. We played some games and ate a lot of good food!

One of the games the kids played was to try and open a gift with mittens on. Pretty humorous.

The other kids' game was to tie a Kleenex box onto your backside and try to wiggle the bells out of the opening. I think Brynn won this round against Logan there.

This game involved everyone. We had to try and stick balloons into pantyhose or reindeer antlers. It was very difficult and our team lost...by a lot. :-)

Our team
We do a gift exchange with the adults and between all the cousins' kids. Brynn received a scrapbooking kit and was so excited, she got to work on it right away when we got home.

I worked yesterday, but took the rest of the week off since everyone else was home, too. I told Brynn she had quite the life today and that she was living high on the hog. My sayings are always lost on her, though. Ha. "What hog?"

Roly poly Clara. She has found her feet now.

Such a big girl. She has been having fun checking out the activity center.

I'm glad she likes the activity center! What a great picture of Brynn relaxing with her feet in the spa!

Love the games! Brynn's hair is getting so long. It's so pretty. Lil Clara is not lil anymore - she's growing by leaps and bounds. Adorable!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
