Mid-Winter Break

Last weekend we went to visit Christel & John to see their new house. Brynn buddied up to John the whole weekend. She went to the science museum and a hockey game with the guys. And had fun chasing the cats around the house.

At the hockey game.

Sunday morning snuggles with Grandpa.

Brynn is on "Mid-Winter Break" from school which started yesterday and goes through tomorrow. I took Wednesday and Thursday off this week and Dana took tomorrow off to be home with the girls. We've been having a grand old time here at home. Yesterday Brynn had her well child check-up and did really well. She's still a petite peanut at only 44 lbs! But her doctor isn't concerned; she is still growing anyway.

She wanted to kick off her break by watching a movie on Tuesday night.

Clara gets to sleep with a snuggly now. Although the blanket is about as big as a large napkin and made of muslin material (so it's really thin), I am still paranoid she's going to smother herself, so I tie a knot in the middle of it, and then Mom can sleep at night, too. ;-)

This drawing is, in fact, new and not from this past Halloween.

There is no taming that fur. Ha.

She thought she was having fun playing with this toy...and then it started to play music. She just smiled.

Cinderella hard at work. I was going to mop the entryway and she asked me if she could do it. I gladly stepped aside. She kept on going and did the kitchen, too.

"Sorry" with Grandma

Today we hung out around home most of the day, but did venture out to the library before meeting Grandpa and Grandma Froemming for lunch.

I was pumping up in our bedroom and left Clara to play downstairs...or fall asleep rather. I kind of wondered when it got awfully quiet on the monitor. :-) We don't call her Snoozy Suzie for nothing!

Let's take a selfie.

More water works adventures with Clara. We are at an awful in-between stage with her and bathing right now. She is about too big for the infant tub anymore, and got us too wet in the sink. Now that she is sitting up more by herself, I thought we could move her to the big tub, but she won't sit still and kicks her legs so much, she just slides all around. I tried to get a suction-cupped bath mat, but our tub is already textured, so it didn't stick. Brynn does help me by trying to hang on to her, but the best way to describe bath time with Clara is that it is akin to trying to catch a greased pig.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
