Fall 2015

This past weekend we got together with Dana's family at Uncle John and Auntie Christel's house in Bemidji. It was the first time we had all been together in a while, so we took the opportunity to officially celebrate Papa Kevin's birthday. Brynn helped blow out candles, of course. Happy birthday, Grandpa.

Saturday morning Grandma had a project ready for Brynn. Grandma had baked cookies and brought the goods to have Brynn frost them. They turned out great.

Finger-lickin' good. :-)

It was a beautiful weekend, so yesterday we took a walk through  through the trails on Uncle and Auntie's property. The previous owners had quite a few deer stands in the woods there and Brynn had to check them all out.

Brynn wanted Auntie to get her a cattail, but it was too wet down there.

Uncle John was kind enough to take some family photos of us in hopes of having some good shots to use for our Christmas card picture. Since this one is just of us three, I probably won't use it in the card, so I thought I'd share it, I don't have many pictures of the three of us girls (good ones anyway), so I really cherish this one especially. Thanks again, John, for taking the pictures and the rest of the family for walking around with us acting like monkeys to get Clara to smile in the general direction of the camera. :-)

Buddies. Brynn really like snuggling with Gray Cat. Clara *really* loved the cats, but maybe a little too aggressively at times. Brynn went with the guys last night to watch the Beavers play hockey. Uncle John bought Brynn her own Beaver's t-shirt, which she has on in this pic.

Oh, Clara. Little mother.

It was pretty nice out at home, too, when we got back to Fargo today. We had just enough time to fool around outside while supper was baking in the oven.

Clara got super relaxed in the swing and kept mumbling 'ma-ma-ma-ma' just to keep herself awake. Ha.

Master Leaf Raker

Weee! I sure do love a good leaf pile, so I just couldn't resist taking a turn at having a jump. Dana and I couldn't stop laughing when we looked at the pic on my camera.

Oh, those dimples!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
