Catching Up

I feel so behind on blogging lately. We haven't been up to anything too major, which is nice. But, here is what we have been up to!

Typical Clara mothering any baby she can her hands on. This is one of the babies at daycare and she always wants to hug him and pet his head. They tell me she is very gentle with him.

Last weekend Brynn attended one of her classmate's birthday party at SkyZone. SkyZone is a place where kids can literally bounce off the walls! Ha. They have a few different areas which are like big trampolines you can jump on and a pit with foam squares to jump into. Her friend Jaylin was there, too, so she had a fun time.

Daddy was snowmobiling last Saturday, so while Clara was napping that afternoon, Brynn and I played Monopoly. I was the cat and she was the dog.

Brynn was excited that on Friday it was Snuggle Up With a Book day at school. The students in her class got to wear PJs and bring a pillow and blanket.

Brynn needed new snowpants, so she and her shopping companion, Daddy, went to Scheels on Friday night to get some new ones...and visit the presidents.

Yesterday the girls and I spent the day out at Grandpa & Grandma's lake place. Grandma and I scrapped (and Brynn a little too) and Grandpa and Brynn went out ice fishing. They only did catch one, but had a good time anyway.

Clara was having fun with Grandpa.

We made a big mess with our scrapbooking stuff...

Today was another nice day, so we all went out to play in the snow for a bit after Clara woke up from her nap. Brynn got buried in the snow and she and Daddy made a snowman.

Poor thing can't really move in all her garb.

I think Brynn named him Grant.

Tonight the girls took a bath together in our upstairs tub. Clara was kindly helping Brynn wash her hair.

Love Brynn's beautiful braid at her friend's party. And of course Clara's 'sprout' piggy tails are soooo cute too! Good to spend some time together on Saturday. Looks like we need to get Brynn some sunglasses like Clara's. :)

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
