Busy Brynn & Mama Clara

On Monday when I was home with the girls in the afternoon we made my sister's hot cocoa recipe that we ended up not having at Brynn's birthday party. Brynn said it was the best ever.

One night this week Daddy and Brynn were working on this 3D star project from this craft book. It turned out pretty cool.

As cold as it was this week, there was a break in the below-freezing temps for it to warm up enough to snow. So, Brynn was out there shoveling while Dad blew snow.

One of the gifts (a bed for her new doll) we were giving Brynn for her birthday didn't arrive until this week. Clara kept trying to climb into the bed. Ha.

The infant room at daycare is big into Minions. On Friday morning they had a Minion breakfast and the parents could join them for a little muffin too. This isn't the usual room they're in; I think they moved them over for breakfast since some of the parents were coming. It's always funny to watch the kids interacting with each other. Clara is still the only girl in her room with seven other boys. The daycare teachers call her the princess. :-)

bath time!
Playing with Grandpa on Friday night. Grandpa and Grandma stopped to pick up Brynn for a weekend at the lake together.

Brynn took her new sewing machine to the lake and she and Grandma made this cool Minion hot pad.

We sure missed Brynn this weekend when she was gone, but the upside to it was that I got a little bit more one-on-one time with Clara. She was busy with her baby Saturday after her nap.

Here's how to take care of a baby, according to Clara!

Check the temperature of the milk.

Feed baby

Feed baby some more.

Check how much you have left in the bottle.

Baby needs a pacifier.

and snuggles.

Shhh! Baby's sleeping.

Sometimes you just don't know what to do with baby.

Reading one of her favorite books (Corduroy) to baby this morning.

Daddy and Brynn did another project tonight: putting together the Goldie Blocks set that she got for her birthday.

For Christmas Clara got this little inflatable ball house from Brynn. Clara really likes it and they both got all riled up playing tonight. I about died laughing when Clara smooshed her face up to the plastic window. Then Brynn had to join in too.

Clara thought it was pretty funny, too.

LOL - love the sequence photos of Clara taking care of her baby. She's such a mommy! We enjoyed having Brynn for the weekend. She looks like Peppa Pig with her face smashed up to the plastic in the ball pit - ha!

Do I see more teeth coming through for Clara? So glad Grma Laurie can help Brynn with her sewing.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
