Pumpkin Patch

Last Monday it was a gorgeous day and Brynn had been wanting to check out the cemetery across the road from our house. So, we headed over there since it was such a nice day.

We were excited to have Auntie Tessa and the cousins come visit this past weekend, though I managed to get through the whole weekend without taking photos. Geez. They kids had a fun time, of course, and it was great to have them.

On Sunday the girls got out Brynn's Easy Bake Oven to try and make some treats. It was pretty sketchy, though, as Brynn had misplaced the baking pan that is supposed to be used with the oven. I didn't end up trying any of their treats, but I think Dana did.

We still hadn't visited any pumpkin patches this year, so on Sunday afternoon after Clara's non-nap we headed out by Davenport to the Rusty K Ranch. They had so much stuff to do there. It was a great set-up, but I wanted to leave about 15 minutes in because I thought it was cold. With no nap from Clara, she had a few meltdowns by the time we left and said on the way home that she didn't have fun. She must have had high hopes going out there, though, because she told me she was excited and her face was happy. Brynn said she had a good time.

It was very windy, obviously...

Brynn was super excited to ride a pony.

The girls found the resident cat wandering around and harassed him for a bit. I wanted to bring him home, of course.

This was my fav part! I was able to warm up by this fire while the girls were riding the barrel train.

Of course these Froemming girls *had* to do the shootout game.

Time to get our pumpkins and endure the final meltdowns from Clara! :-)

When dropping Brynn off for school this morning we were greeted by Centennial's principal on the rooftop! He had promised the students that if they reached their fundraising goal he would move his office to the roof of the school for the day. So, you can see a table up there with him which is supposed to be his desk, I guess. Haha. I get such a kick out of him. I felt bad for him as today was horrendously windy.

Brynn taught us how to play the card game Garbage tonight.

Story time.

Looks like fun! Darn cold and wind. Clara looked really excited to pick out a pumpkin. Those Easy Bake Oven creations always sound like a better idea than they actually turn out to be. :/ We had a great weekend with you guys!

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Halloween 2025

Happy Halloween! We did trick-or-treating at my office again and celebrated National Cat Day a couple of days late. Unicorn making magic happen! The kids and Freddy. We got a little bit of a late start around 7:30. We went to a neighborhood near the high school where several of Clara's friends live. We stopped at Micah's house to say hi and another schoolmate happened to be over as well. We got to visiting too long and by the time we headed back out, some houses either had run out of candy (including Micah's, where they went through 600 pieces his mom said) or were already done for the night. But, we still got around to several. It had just gotten done raining and the wind was cold, so I didn't care to be out too long myself. Clara asked to have another post-Halloween party this year and Brynn planned and executed the whole thing. One of our fav parts was the missing children posters which were all the guests. Green Army Man, Clara Barton, Luna Lovegood (from Harry Pott...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
