Halloween Preview

A little catch-up before we head into the Halloween stuff...

Last week the girls completed their session of gymnastics. They'll start again in the next session this coming Thursday.

Such a pretty sunset from last week.

Last Friday night was the Fall Festival at Brynn's school. The girls got dressed in their costumes and we all headed out. As you can probably tell, Clara is going as a black kitty this year and Brynn is a witch.

Brynn spent time putting on her green face, only to remove it before we left for the party. :-/

Clara was asking the festival workers for 'tickles,' however she really meant tickets. haha. The lady was happy to oblige for the tickles.

Brynn saw her friends right away and ran around with them most of the time.

The dance is always a happenin' event at the festival. It's so entertaining to watch all the kids dancing around with their costumes.

Clara ran into a couple of her friends there too! Interestingly enough, this little girl's brother and Brynn started out at Nancy's together, basically from day one. Anyone remember Kane? They were in Kindergarten together too. Now, his little sister and Clara are in preschool together at Hope. Ha.

Bedtime stories after the festival. Clara still has her whiskers on. :-)

We woke up to white on Saturday morning. It was very frosty.

Brynn dressed her doll in her Halloween outfit.

Lovey Clara (still has the whiskers).

We got our pumpkins carved on Saturday. Brynn did a good job of cleaning hers out all by herself. She was working on saving the seeds to roast later.

Brynn's pumpkin's name is Bob and Clara's is Papa John.

Feeding Papa John some leaves.

It was getting to be supper time by the time we cleaned up from the pumpkin carving, so we decided to check out the Wild Rice Bar & Grill which now isn't very far from our house. Daddy and Brynn played a little game of hangman while we waited for our food.

Decor progress! With the help of my sister, I am starting to get some more things on the walls and such. I love how the toy area is shaping up.

Good-bye vertical blinds and hello curtains! I am so happy with the way the curtains and the rug look in the dining room.

Thanks, Tessa!

Post-church donut!

Brynn and I got our nails done on Sunday before doing some grocery shopping.

It was chilly and windy and a bit misty outside, but we still hadn't done our Halloween preview pictures. So we traipsed out Sunday afternoon and the girls were troopers.

Brynn's pumpkin seeds turned out great!

We're excited for trick-or-treating tomorrow!

Cute picture of Brynn & her buddies at the festival. The dance looks a hoppin'. Wow, that is so cool about reconnecting with Kane and his fam. Small world! Cute sister pic of them reading after the festival. Love your jack o' lanterns and your bib overalls, girls! The house is looking so great. It was fun to help! Omg, I'm dying over that second to last pic of Brynn in her witch costume. May have to print that one out for my pin board. Hope your seeds were yummy, Brynn!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! January + Valentine's Day + CATS!

We ARE still alive over here and have not frozen to death. Here's what we've been up to for the past month and a half! Brynn and Hubert at the OG (Olive Garden): 'Lady and the Tramp' style. haha. Taking in a Force game...with extra fighting. It was very exciting. One Sunday when Clara was at a sleepover, the three of us went to Black Coffee Waffle Bar after church and then for some crepes and boba at Tea & Crepe. Then Brynn and I went prom dress shopping which was really fun. She did find a dress she loves so that was a relief. This is not the one she chose, but she tried on quite a few nice ones. Clara made crowns for the king and I (me). Clara had to write an essay to be considered for the robotics team at school. She waited for at least a couple of weeks to learn if she was accepted, and unfortunately was not. She was pretty disappointed, but she does have a chance to reapply next year when she's a fifth grader, and won't have to write another essay. I th...
