Happy 10th Birthday, Brynn

Happy 10th birthday to Brynnie! We celebrated on the big day on Tuesday at Space Aliens.

On Friday we hosted some of Brynn's friends at our house for her emoji-themed party.

We didn't really have many specific party activities planned, so after pizza and cake, a sort of impromptu Beanboozled Challenge erupted. (Beanboozled are jelly beans that are either 'naughty or nice' in that it could taste like dirty socks or coconut, for example, and you don't know which it will be until you taste it.) It was hilarious to watch each person take her (or his - Dana joined in too) turn.

Brynn received lots of nice gifts including this homemade wrapping paper.

The mom of one of the girls made this cute ice cream scoop hat. Love it!

Here's the video from the friend party. Dana threw down a dance-off challenge to the girls to break the tie for a Beanboozled winner.

Today we celebrated with family at our house with a candy-themed party. Brynn and I put together this candy cake this past week which turned out to be more difficult than I had anticipated, but Brynn thought it turned out well.

We also had cupcakes decorated with candy.

It gave us a chuckle to watch Ben trying his Pop Rocks.

I think all the kids had their fill of candy! :-)

Again, so many nice gifts!

Thank you to everyone who remembered Brynn on her birthday and came to celebrate with us. It's so hard to believe...double digits now! Here's the pic I shared on Facebook for her birthday. It seems so long ago that she was that little; and little she was! Here's to the next 10, Brynn! We love you.

I think I would of liked that kids party. Fun! Maybe next Christmas we should get some of those jelly beans so the adults can try them too. There's a couple people I'd like to trick.

Haha, Shelly, that's a good idea! Those girls did a great job; I am kind of a wimp at Beanboozled. Looks like lots of birthday fun, Brynn! You are getting to be so mature, and such a young lady. We love you so much!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
