Birthday Parties

After Brynn's birthday, we have continued with the birthday celebrations. Brynn and Clara each attended a friends party last weekend. I accompanied Clara to hers, which was her friend from daycare, so I was able to get some pic of her.

Glitter tattoos!

Clara got a hold of my phone and took a selfie.

Trying to get my phone back. Ha.

There was a really pretty sunset as I was leaving work one night last week.

Cardboard Clara!

Clara and her fav book, Ms. Spider's Tea Party. We ALL know the entire book by heart by now. It's a great one, though.

Brynn is always thinking. This was her latest invention. :-)

The girls started roller skating lessons on Saturday mornings and had their second one this past Saturday. It took Clara a bit to get into the mix of things, but this second Saturday, they did have the youngest ones broken off into a group on their own and that really seemed to help. Brynn is frustrated at the pace at which they're learning. "We haven't even learned to skate yet," she told us several times. They've started with the basics of skates and putting them on properly, learning how to fall and get up.

It was a beautifully frosty morning one day last week. This was looking North from the Hope Church parking lot after I had dropped Clara off daycare, facing Gethsemane Church.

Pics from Clara at daycare.

We celebrated Elise's 9th (!) birthday with her at Chuck E Cheese on Sunday. Happy birthday, sweet girl!

Elise chose Chad for the Ticket Blaster. Getting ready to head in!

I learned of this contest called "Doodle for Google" where students submit their artistic impression of the Google letters.  This year's topic was 'what inspires you.' Here is Brynn's submission.

Awesome! Brynn is such a good artist! Your pics at Chuck E Cheese turned out so well! The lighting in there is difficult. Thanks for joining us to celebrate!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
