Brynn and the rest of us

Last weekend we attended a wedding for one of our family friends in Fergus.

The top photo is courtesy of Holly and the below one Brynn took. :-)

The girls had a fun time getting the party started out on the dance floor.

With no nap and a late hour approaching, Clara didn't last too long.

Not the case for Brynn, though! We took Clara home to bed and Brynn stayed with Grandpa and Grandma to shut down the dance. Holly said she was having a blast dancing ...

and even got in on the garter belt.

Apparently the tiebreaker was rock, paper, scissors.

As predicted we had bad weather on Monday which resulted in a snow day and no school. Dana stayed home with the girls in the morning while I made it into the office to get some things done and was back home before 1:00 when Dana went into CNH.

The girls kept themselves pretty busy and Clara took a good nap, so I was able to continue some work at home. We took a little break for some photos of Brynn though. We had a good time.

I almost don't even want to post this one because she looks SO OLD! So hard for Mama.

Brynn made up some marshmallow PB treats that no one has touched yet...including her.

After blowing snow a couple of times on Monday and Tuesday, Dana was scouring Craigslist for a riding snowblower of some kind.

More sunrises...can't get enough!

You may recall the anti-bullying posters that I had previously mentioned Brynn and her friends posting around school. The night of parent-teacher conferences we received this postcard from Brynn's teacher. It was so nice of him to take time to send us a note, especially since we were going to be seeing him at conferences anyhow.

Finally I was able to take a picture of Brynn next to one of their signs at school.

Being silly after supper the other night.

Good night!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
