Clara's 5th Birthday

Clara was anxiously awaiting her fifth birthday, counting down the days. She had chosen a rainbow theme for her party which was pretty fun.

Dana and I surprised her at school last Friday during their treats. Brynn was able to join as well.

Clara and her school buddies...and Brynn. :-)

She wanted to bring cupcakes for her birthday treat. Luckily I happened to find rainbow and unicorn ones at the store.

Clara wanted to go out to her fav restaurant for her birthday dinner. It was goood!

Auntie came to stay the night before the party and the girls were pretty excited to spend some extra time with her.

We had been saving our Scoopy Token coupons for a long time which scored the girls a kickball! They aired it up in the back for them and everything. Pretty awesome.

Getting ready for the party with some rainbow tats.

Cake done!

Our sweet birthday girl!

She was such a riot when she was blowing out her candles.

We had to go full-blown rainbow and do the cake rainbow as well.

Clara's birthday was the first pinata we've ever had. It worked out really well to set it up out in the back garage.

Ben had a lot of success unleashing the candy.

The girls' faces. Haha.

A couple attempts at a pic of all the kids.

We lost Clara on this one. :-/

Clara's friend (my BFF's daughter), Adria, was able to stay and play for a while once the party died down a bit. They had a fun time 'camping' with Clara's new set from uncle John and auntie Christel.

After we cleaned up from the party, we decided to go out for pasta at Carinos.

Clara received make-your-own stickers from Adria and was totally into it. So fun.

Thank you to everyone who wished Clara a happy birthday and to those who were able to come celebrate with her. She told me the morning of her birthday that she still felt four, but now I think she's full-on feelin' five. :-) We love you, Fluffy Muffy.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Medora Trip

Last weekend Clara and I traveled west to Medora. Clara had never been there before and was interested in checking it out. She was mapping out our route (which was pretty straightforward!) before we left. We made good time and, of course, had to stop at The Coffee Cup in Steele. (Growing up whenever we would go to Bismarck, it was must to stop here for snacks.) We waved to Sue on our way past New Salem. It was beautiful weather when we rolled into Medora. We were able to get checked into our motel right away and walked into town to start checking things of our itinerary. Our first stop was ice cream! After ice cream we just walked around town a bit and went into some of the shops. Clara had a burger from Sheriff Bear's before we got back to our motel just ahead of a rain shower. After the weather cleared, I was hungry for dinner so we shared some pizza and drove into the Theodore Roosevelt National Park for a bit. It was very foggy and misty when we got up on Saturday morning. We ...
