Guests & Halloween Preparations

The weekend after we got back from Disney our good friends from St. Cloud came up for a visit.

There were many four-wheeler rides, lots of food and great fun.

The older girls put on a show for us.

Auntie Shelly and Uncle Lester were up around our neck of the woods and were able to stay with us a couple of nights as well. Shelly made her famous chimichangas (and homemade chicken noodle soup!) by request of the girls and they did not disappoint! Then they challenged Shelly to a game of Beanboozled, but Shelly remained unfazed and thought they all tasted good. Hehe. Maybe she didn't really get any bad tasting ones after all.

Game of garbage with daddy...

Brynn working on homework.

It was Lego Mania this past weekend. Brynn made a house for her and me to live in. I guess Clara and daddy lived in their own house.

We finally got around to carving pumpkins on Saturday afternoon.

After carving Dana and I got ready to go out to dinner as Brynn had offered to baby-sit. Thanks, Brynn!

We were just going to go out to eat and then come home, but the girls were just watching TV and Brynn sounded like she had everything under control at home. So, we went over to the Gastropub/Fargo Billiards and I whooped Dana at ping pong. So fun. However, meanwhile, Brynn tried putting Clara to bed, but I think Clara was giving her the business a little bit and so we came pack so Brynn could go to bed too.

Halloween preparations continued on Sunday as I coerced my mom into sewing my Halloween costume. :-) Thanks, Mom!

I thought we had missed the boat for our annual Halloween preview pics as we had planned to do it on Saturday when the weather was somewhat decent, but then the wind did end up picking up and we plain ran out of time when were busy carving the pumpkins. So, we got organized after we got home today and snapped a few quick ones. Clara is reprising her wolf costume again this year and Brynn is a vampire. Super scary!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
