Swim Lessons, Harry Potter Trivia, Valentine's Day, Happy birthday to Elise!

I was visiting over at my best friend, Amanda's, house a week or so ago. Their kitty had recently gotten spayed and had to wear a cone. She is just the cutest thing.

Clara started up swimming lessons again. This time we tried Foss Swim School. Her first day, it was just her and one other girl...the other girl being her friend Tammy who used to attend Hope with Clara. They were so excited to see each other again. Tammy was so sweet, encouraging Clara and cheering for her.

Brynn skipped out on gymnastics last Tuesday to attend a Harry Potter trivia night at the library. It sounds like there were some pretty hard core Potter people there, but I think they said they came in at about the middle of everyone with the final scores.

We had a great Valentine's Day, celebrating at home. Thank you to everyone who sent the girls valentines! They felt very loved.

On Saturday we celebrated cousin Elise's birthday with a 'Back to the Future' themed party. The cake was outstanding! What a fun theme.

These two. 💓💓 Prairie Joy is Chad's brother's daughter and only a week younger than Clara. They always have a fun time together.

Eleven candles!

We were able to stay the night Saturday night and the cousins had a fun time together as usual. Elise had received some Easy Bake Oven mixes for her birthday, so she and Clara were busy making pretzels.

And Brynn and Regs were making some chocolate syrup marshmallow treats.

Brynn had yesterday and today off of school. I took today off to take her to some appointments. We had a pretty productive day running errands and browsing at Barnes & Noble and the library.

I'm a big cheap cheat and take pics of books that I want to read to later check if they're available for free on my library app. :-D

We picked Clara up early and she was busy at the sensory table.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
