January

Well, there went January! Here is a recap of last month with one post. :)

Brynn came to XaBeat again with me one Saturday morning. (It's a dance-type class similar to Zumba, if you're familiar with that). It was just our group in the pic (Lana in the pink is the instructor) plus one other lady. The other girls are my boss and her girls, so we snapped a pic of our 'mother/daughter' class.

Dana trying his darnedest to hack his way through the snow on the sidewalk. The girls were trying to make their way over to him to offer their help.

Brynn had an appointment and the day off of school a couple of Mondays ago, so I took the day off of work and we had lunch at her restaurant of choice, Village Inn.
'

We picked Clara up early from school and they shoveled the deck off so that I could get to the grill to make dinner. Good helpers!

Dana took off work a couple of Fridays ago to help paint at his parents' cabin. He took Clara to Fergus with him, but not before they stopped at Space Aliens for lunch.

Brynn and I joined everyone at Grandpa and Grandma's on Saturday. It was a nice day to play outside for a bit in the afternoon.

Mid-song. :-)

She had just hurled that snowball you see coming right for me.

We went out to Mable Murphy's to celebrate Holly's birthday before they headed down to Florida for a few weeks.

Happy birthday, Grandma!

Last Friday evening Brynn and I helped pack food for Feed My Starving Children. We had a good time doing it after they cranked the tunes in the Scheels arena and we got going in our assembly line. Turns out we were working at the same table as one of Dana's old co-workers, so we caught up with him a bit.

Saturday we met up with my parents and Weckerlys (sans Tessa) at Detroit Mountain. It was a great day for tubing and we had so much fun.

Dana and I went to parent-teacher conferences for Brynn this past Thursday and were greeted by these guys, modeling some lost and found items. They really cracked us up.

All of Brynn's teachers were really nice to chat with again and it was nice to hear some updates on how her teachers feel she's doing. She's having a better second semester it seems now that she's had a chance to get into the groove of middle school a bit more. Summer will be here before we know it....well, at least that's what I tell myself on days that it's below freezing.

Clara paid Brynn $10 to take this Our Generation doll off of Brynn's hands. I think everyone was satisfied with their transaction.

We have just been bummin around this weekend, getting caught up on some thing around the house. We mixed up sugar cookie dough yesterday to bake Valentines cut-out cookies, but have yet to do that today. Instead the girls went outside to play and then Brynn tagged out and I had to make my way out there so Clara had someone to be with her outside. We did some sledding and did have a good time until we couldn't feel our hands anymore.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
