Happy 13th, Brynn!

Happy 13th birthday to Brynnie!

Obviously it's crazy to think she's a teenager now. We are so proud of the amazing young woman she is growing into. We love you, Brynn Marie!

We figured we shouldn't throw a regular birthday party this year with hosting a bunch of family and friends at our house. Instead Brynn said she wanted to go back up to Bemidji to Kohl's Resort...the one our friends run and where we went for a weekend this past fall. Cousin Reagan came along to help us celebrate.

Grandpa and Grandma Froemming called to wish Brynn a happy birthday.

We had breakfast and then the girls ice skated on the lake for a bit while Dana roasted some dogs over the fire for us for lunch.

It was so beautiful there again; this time with white frosty trees.

Brynn had been wanting to try skiing since we were at Detroit Mountain last year. Buena Vista Ski Resort is just 15 miles from Kohl's, so we thought it would work out great for us to get some skiing in. Reagan had a new-to-her snow board that she wanted to break in too. I love skiing, but hadn't been out in ages. Dana and Clara decided to stay back and swim. (Their tubing hill wasn't open at this time, otherwise they probably would have done that.)

It was a really nice place...

Unfortunately, Brynn didn't have the best experience...in fact, she declared it the worst experience of her life. :-( I think she probably would have done better having some real instruction with a professional versus Reagan and I trying to teach her. Alas, she did not let it ruin her birthday. And now she can at least say that she tried it!

The owner/our friend Ashley put up all these birthday decorations for us. It looked great.
Brynn had found a bakery in Bemidji that was able to make her an Among Us cake. (Among Us is a popular online game.) She really knocked it out of the park. It looked fantastic and just like the photo we had sent her for reference.

"No more pictures, Mom!"
Ok, one last one...

Brynn chose red velvet with cream cheese frosting. It was very tasty!

Reading the sweet note Grandma Darlene put in her card.

Brynn is pretty into the Zodiac and Weckerlys got her a book about her sign, Capricorn. Reagan surprised her that she had the same book for her sign too.
Clara's card. 💓

The girls decided to go swimming after enchiladas, cake and gifts. Brynn and Reagan played some Among Us with Brynn's friend from back home before turning in for the night.

Brian and Ashley set us up in another fantastic cabin. We had so much fun and were all sad when it was time to pack up and head out this morning.

We had to have a little ice cream treat (well, not little because Brian really loads up the cups!) at 10:00 AM on our way out. It is super yummy ice cream.

Thank you to everyone who wished Brynn a happy birthday!

Welcome to the teenage years, Brynn! We love you so much and are so thankful God gave you to us.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
