January

I feel like it's been ages since I've updated the blog, but we haven't been up to a whole lot lately. Here are some highlights though...

Brynn looked up all the cancer ribbon colors and drew each one that she found. 💓

I was greeted by this snow angel outside my office building one morning. I guess it was one of my coworkers. Loved it!

Brynn and her artistic self. :-)

As you may have heard by now, Brynn's hamster, Eddie, passed away a little over a week ago. We're not sure what happened, of course. It was pretty sad, though, and I felt so terribly for Brynn. He was a good little buddy. Right away, Brynn made this tribute collage about him.

Clara ready for school one morning this week, sporting sequined cat ears.

Brynn was thinking all week if she was ready to get a new hamster and decided she was. So, she and Dad came home with Mickey on Friday. I thought my family knew I am FREAKED OUT by all things albino and this guy has the red eyes and all. But, he is still pretty cute. He is getting acclimated to his new home and family. Brynn was discouraged at the thought of 'starting over' with another hamster, having to get another one used to being pet and held. He's a bit shy still right now, but I'm sure he'll warm up soon.

He has a completely different personality compared to Eddie. He is much more docile. He looked so cute all curled up snoozing today.

Brynn and I did some more scrapbooking this weekend.

Dana and I also introduced Brynn to one of our fav movies, 'Wayne's World.' She said it was one of her fav ones that we've watched from the 80s/90s together.

The girls were doing make-up today.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
