February Things

Last weekend I was excited to learn that I had won a dinner of Marge's World Famous Hot Dish and homemade bread from the Boiler Room in Fargo, plus a 6-pack of beer from Fargo Brewing Company.

We ate the hot dish so quickly that I never even snapped a pic beforehand, so I stole one off of the Boiler Room's website. I had always wanted to try this 'famous' hot dish, and it did not disappoint! It is basically tator tot hot dish and it appeared they make their own (huge) tots as well.

Both the hot dish and the bread were very good. It really did put my own tot hot dish to shame. The girls weren't very excited about it, though.

After dinner Clara and I finally made it down to the lights tunnel outside the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead. I had been wanting to get down there to check it out and turns out I'm glad I waited for nicer temps.

It was pretty neat!

It's not really long and thus didn't take us much time to get through it, so we decided to also walk up to the Stave Church. I thought it was beautiful; Clara said it looked haunted.

Saturday morning

Loves 💓 I'm pretty sure there is never an age when you no longer fit on your parents' lap.

Clara was trying to catch snowflakes on her tongue after she got off the school bus one afternoon.

Brynn is at her friend's (Annabelle) birthday party today. They were going to go swimming and have a slumber party. I asked her to send me some pics from the party. :-)

We've had some warmer weather now finally this past week, so things have really started to look and feel like spring (ie wet and sloppy). Clara went through one pair of snow boots and another pair of rain boots getting all wet playing outside this evening.

Always snacking. Bed lunch for this angry bird tonight was cereal.

...and truth or dare. She would ask me 'truth or dare, Mom?!' and then giggle before I could even answer. Haha.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
