First Day of School

Dad took Brynn out for a date night to Olive Garden on Sunday night before school got started again. Clara woke up early on Monday morning and decided to make herself a breakfast from a recipe out of one of her cookbooks. She did a great job, but it sounded like she didn't care for it very much. Daddy liked it, though, so at least someone enjoyed it. We had just enough time this morning to snap our obligatory pics before we headed out. Brynn starts school about a half an hour later than Clara does so I rode bike with Clara to drop her off and came back to drive Brynn to her school. It was a beautiful morning out! She was excited that she could reach the top of her locker this year!  No tears from either of us. I am two for two with Clara now in holding it together. I might be toughening up! She was very excited for school and just started to get a little nervous only when I was about to leave. Brynn wasn't quite as excited for school as Clara :-) There she goes! Last year as a

Good-bye to Taylor, Ready for School, Weekend Fun

On Wednesday the girls said good-bye to their nanny, Taylor. They had a fun day of going out to eat at Noodles & Co. before heading to the indoor 'waterpark' in Casselton.    The girls got along with her really well and she was really sweet and a lot of fun. She's heading to U of M in Duluth for college this week. I can't remember if I posted anything about Clara's new bike on here, but Dana found her one that was a better fit for her and she has really taken off with it...literally. It's so nice that she not only can keep up with all of us biking now, but usually speeds off ahead. So, the other night she biked and I trailed behind walking to the park down on our street. On Wednesday Clara got to take her supplies to school and meet her first grade teacher. They will be starting out the school year wearing masks, but hopefully if things start improving again, it won't be long-term.  She was a bit nervous for school starting, but once she met her teacher

End of Summer

One night after dinner Brynn fashioned up a dress for Clara. It turned out really cool!  The countdown to school is on. August 25th is the first day back. We just learned this week that due to the surge of cases because of the Delta variant of COVID, they will need to return to school wearing masks. Hopefully it won't last too long.  We did get our back-to-school shopping done. Clara had her check-up and is very healthy! Brynn made me into a Simpsons character. I love it. Brynn spent a lot of time last weekend going through her clothes and stuff in her room and it looks amazingly organized and tidy now. Yay, Brynn! Amanda and I went to the Guns N Roses concert this past week and had a great time. Daddy was invited to a guys weekend at auntie Christel and Uncle John's house, so auntie came to visit at our house. Clara is forever trying to get Christel to do yoga with her. So, they took advantage of the nice evening and did some yoga out on the deck. On Saturday we went to the Re
