End of Summer

One night after dinner Brynn fashioned up a dress for Clara. It turned out really cool!

The countdown to school is on. August 25th is the first day back. We just learned this week that due to the surge of cases because of the Delta variant of COVID, they will need to return to school wearing masks. Hopefully it won't last too long.

We did get our back-to-school shopping done.

Clara had her check-up and is very healthy!

Brynn made me into a Simpsons character. I love it.

Brynn spent a lot of time last weekend going through her clothes and stuff in her room and it looks amazingly organized and tidy now. Yay, Brynn!

Amanda and I went to the Guns N Roses concert this past week and had a great time.

Daddy was invited to a guys weekend at auntie Christel and Uncle John's house, so auntie came to visit at our house.

Clara is forever trying to get Christel to do yoga with her. So, they took advantage of the nice evening and did some yoga out on the deck.

On Saturday we went to the Red River Market downtown. It was pretty hot out but luckily we found some shade for Brynn to eat a quesadilla she got at one of the food trucks.

Then we headed to the horse park for more food trucks and Corgi dog races.

Oh! Look who showed up at the races!

After the races, Adria came over for a visit until we dropped her off back at home on our way out to dinner. Brynn was doing makeovers.

Scoop-n-Dough now has a south Fargo location, so we had to check that out and introduce auntie to the awesomeness after dinner.

Clara decided to get fancy to go out to dinner. She did receive a couple compliments on her dress.

I was greeted by this big dragonfly on our door this morning.

Nanny Taylor's last day with us is this coming Wednesday, so the girls are thinking of some fun things to do and planning to soak up the last of their summer break with her before she heads off to college.

The dress turned out great! As did your Simpson character. I love the Simpson art I got! Love the back-to-school shopping photos, haha. Fun times with Christel! Love the dress you wore to the market.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
