Grandparents Visits, Friendsgiving, etc.

Well, it seems autumn (weather) is over now as we have snow. These pics were from a couple of weeks ago and most has melted now.

Clara was having a blast sledding down the hill with Daddy. Daddy? Not as much fun. 😃 I love it though and even more from inside the house. Yay, Daddy!

Clara's class took a trip to the Plains Art Museum.

Brynn DIYing Starbucks at home. I think she was happy with how it turned out.

Brave lil bunny got her first COVID vaccine. I'm happy to report that she experienced no side effects. We also received word from Fargo Public Schools that they will no longer be required to wear masks in school come mid-January. Very exciting!

Two peas in a pod working on their projects. Brynn is redoing the shelf that was in the craft room so she can have it in her bedroom.

Goofing around at Walmart.

Movie Night: The original Mighty Ducks. Clara really liked it.

I was so excited to do a nacho night last weekend. I thought they turned out great, especially with Brynn's homemade guac.

More food pics! The latest work blog recipe I made which was Thanksgiving-inspired quinoa stuffing with sweet potatoes, apples, cranberries and hazelnuts. I thought it turned out great. I stuck the leftovers in the freezer and plan to bring it back out for Thanksgiving.

Bedtime routine:

My morning exercise group got together for a Friendsgiving on Friday night.

May, who was at Friendsgiving, said we should come to the Mainline Bar & Grill in Downer on Saturday night as she was going to be bartending. Both Dana's and my parents have been there before and safe to say, we'd all recommend it. They had fantastic food there.

Meanwhile, the girls had a fun overnight visit with each of the grandparents.

The girls dug the LEGOs back out to play.

Clara wanted to try this popover recipe from one of her cookbooks. They turned out really yummy.  We don't have a popover pan, so we just used a muffin tin. They didn't turn out then as big as a typical popover, but we mixed up a little honey butter to go with them. Mmm!

So many great photos! Very impressed with Brynn redoing that shelf - awesome! Clara must have great taste in movies; Mighty Ducks is a fave of mine, too. Yum, I love a nacho night (in or out!). Can't wait to give the new stuffing recipe a try. Friendsgiving! How fun! Glad you guys had a good date night and the girls had fun at the grandparents'. Will Clara's popovers be making an appearance at Thanksgiving??

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
