July 2023

Clara helped Adria celebrate her 9th birthday at the beginning of July.

Thanks to Holly and Kevin for hosting us all for our Christmas in July celebration. It was a fun day of visiting and relaxing.

Frying fish and turtle and John was on brat watch.

Clara had a great time playing with cousins.

Brooklyn was able to join us as well.

Clara got to stay a couple extra days after the rest of us went home on Sunday.

Happy window washers! 💜

Game night! We started with Monopoly and then taught Hubert (Brynn's boyfriend) Nertz. Hubert picked up on Nertz really quickly.

Then I was off to Chicago for a trade show for work. This was the hotel I stayed at.

I was glad to get back home, especially when I returned to this note and plate of cookies!

And this cute origami bunny.

I was able to take Clara to her tennis lesson then next morning which I enjoyed so much.

Almost equally as enjoyable was then taking Brynn to her dentist appointment where she had laughing gas. :-) She was a little loopy for a bit afterward.

We had our annual Dietz picnic at Rheault Farm in Fargo and it was so good to see everyone.

Clara and I joined Grandpa and Grandma Dietz at the horse races. It was family day so they had balloon animals, real animals (ie petting zoo) and bouncy houses.

Izabell and Clara created this amazingly detailed ship.

Christel and John hosted us this past weekend. It was a beautiful weekend and we had a good time eating, enjoying some pool time and pickleball.

...and getting nails done.

We had tacos, and of course, Brynn's guac.

Morning kitty snuggles. 😻

Oh my gosh, so much to comment on! Happy bday Adria! Beautiful beautiful pictures from the lake - you do such a good job capturing the fun moments. Brynn's smile in those pictures with Brooklyn - love it. Did Brynn do the chalk drawing of Snoopy?? He's my fave! I love Clara's Armadillo costume, haha. She's so creative. Also love her little overalls. Welcome to the Nertz fam, Hubert! I've heard the Intercontinental is great - what did you think? Why does Clara look so grown up in the photos from the picnic?! Gah. Looks like fun at the races! All aboard the Clara Express! Oh man, pickle ball and pedicures and swimming - my kind of weekend. I need Brynn to come make me some guac pronto. Christel looks so cozy with her kitties. Miss you all!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
