December + Christmas

We attended a Force hockey game a couple of weeks ago.

I went back home for my good childhood friend's dad's funeral and was going through Carrington anyway, so Clara got to hang out with Grandpa and Grandma for the afternoon.

Clara had made a new toy for Ninja.

Clara's school had a real live elf on the shelf, Sprinkle!

I got to see her in person one day when I dropped Clara off for school. I took a few extra days off ahead of everyone else which was amazing. I walked over to pick Clara up from school a couple of days.

Adria came over to play.

She and I took in the Winter Solstice walk at a park up north in Moorhead. It was really fun.

On Friday we went to see Home Free again with our friends Alex and Kaily.

On Saturday afternoon we headed to Tessa's to celebrate Christmas.

Tessa and I did the Rosa's run and ran into the Grinch while we were there.

We had a fun evening visiting together.

I didn't get any photos, but we played some of Tessa's fun new games too.

We did the 10:00 am Christmas eve church service on Sunday morning. There were only a few others there outside of our Weckerly/Froem family so it felt extra special and intimate.

The cousins did a wonderful job playing piano, saxophone and singing.

Clara and Oliver got to light the candles.

We had a relaxing afternoon before we got ready for everyone else to arrive for Christmas dinner and gifts.

Twinsies!

We headed back home late Christmas eve to wake up at home on Christmas morning.

I got up with Clara at about 7:30 to watch her open her stocking and then went back to bed for a couple more hours until I barely got up in time to make it to our Christmas Day church service.

The rest of us opened our stockings after we got home from church.

Then we made brunch.

We spent the afternoon reading, playing toys and games and relaxing.

We gave Clara 'Little Women' for Christmas and are reading it to each other.

Clara baked and decorated a birthday cake for Jesus.

We had a nice dinner and then exchanged our gifts.

Clara made a couple of ornaments for us at school. This was one of them.

We've been busy checking activities off our bucket list this week and now are getting ready to celebrate Christmas over the weekend with Dana's side.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
