Second Christmas, Christmas Break, New Years

We gifted Clara Bananagrams for Christmas so we got in a couple of rounds of that. I thought it was pretty fun.

We still don't have any snow, just some leftover piles here and there. We did have rain over Christmas break so Clara and I headed outside

Late night shennanigans with Brynn.

We checked off quite a few things off our Christmas Vacation Bucket List, but were foiled with a couple like tubing and sledding with our lack of snow. I think Detroit Mountain was open for tubing/skiing, but we still didn't make it there.

Dad and Clara watched the morning movie (I'm trying to recall what this one is called. Klaus, I think.) after their sleepover.

We held the gingerbread house decorating contest again...I opted out of participating and Hubert took my spot.

Thank you so all who voted! Brynn remains undefeated!

Dana and Clara did the arcade games at Kingpinz after we ate dinner there while I went back home with Brynn and Hubert until our bowling reservation.

Dana kept texting me pics and every time he sent one, it was of Clara with more tickets. Haha.

We celebrated Christmas with Dana's side over the weekend.

Clara made a note for Grandma saying she makes the BEST caramel rolls! I can't disagree.

On New Year's Eve we went to a Force game.

Grandma took Clara shopping and Clara used some of her money she had saved up to get a matching outfit for her bear.

It was a good game and they won by four!

On New Year's Day, the last day of break, we went ice skating at The Lights in West Fargo and brought Daniel and Abigail, Hubert's siblings. It was pretty chilly and we had to get Clara back home to get to bed, so we weren't there very long.

Oops...I didn't realize that Clara's eyes were closed when I snapped the pic.

Fun, fun, fun! I'm glad Clara is liking Bananagrams; we can't get enough of it at our house either.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
