BUMPdate: 33 Weeks

Today marks 33 weeks with 7 more to go! I had my last check-up on Tuesday in which I received my weekly progesterone shot and listened to the baby's heartbeat and all that. My doctor was surprised at how low I am carrying. Her head continues to be down and to the left with her butt apparently up and to the right. It feels usually like she's punching my pelvis. When I am sitting down it always feels like my belly is resting in my lap.

I am still feeling pretty good, but am rapidly losing sight of my ankles. :-( I was hoping if it hadn't happened by now that maybe I would be good to go, but alas, they are puffing up. They get pretty stiff by the end of the day. Mom, I am trying to elevate and rotate! :-)

Otherwise, the heartbeat was good and strong and everything else looked great at my appointment. I get a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions daily which are getting pretty annoying, but aren't posing any harm or issues, I guess. The doctor estimated the baby to be around 3.5 lbs. Not sure how she can tell that, but that was kind of interesting.

This picture was from last weekend at Dana's cousin's wife, Stacey's, baby shower. She is due a couple of weeks before I am. I thought we looked like ying and yang bellies here since I am so low and she probably isn't necessarily high per se, but normal! We will all be waiting in anticipation for the news of their arrival, and to learn if she's had a boy or girl cookin' in there. :-)

Yikes - it's getting close!!! Yes you are certainly carrying low - they used to say it's a boy if you carry low. But you know how those sayings are. Keep rotating and elevating!!!! :)

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
