First Bath

Brynn is gone staying with Grandpa and Grandma Froemming for a couple of days and Daddy headed back to work today, so it was pretty quiet in the house just Clara and me.

On a random note, here is a video of Brynn and her latest thing. She's always doing this hand clap routine on the floor, on the counter, on any surface she can find. It does not usually involve a cup, though. It can get rather annoying after a while, and we've had to ask her not to do it on the counter top any longer, but her routine with the cup incorporated here was kind of interesting. I think she must have learned this at HopeKids. Click here to watch the video: http://youtu.be/s5pNz_shZfE

Clara's umbilical cord stump already fell off a couple of days ago. So, on Sunday we tried her first tub bath. She was not a fan, unfortunately! Hopefully she'll learn to like them.
Kisses from Daddy

Daddy checking in on things. :-)

All clean!

Our friends, the Petersens, came by to meet Clara tonight and gave her her first Cabbage Patch doll! I love those things.

I forgot that I should also update that I took Clara back for another bilirubin check on Saturday and it had started to go down, so we're good to go. Her weight was the same as the Thursday check, but it had started to go up on Thursday from the Tuesday check. She has been really eating lately, so I am interested to see what her weight is at her two-week check-up next Monday.

Oh she is sooo sweet! Miss her - I really need to get there and hold her! Brynn and Brianna should get together with their cups!

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Halloween 2025

Happy Halloween! We did trick-or-treating at my office again and celebrated National Cat Day a couple of days late. Unicorn making magic happen! The kids and Freddy. We got a little bit of a late start around 7:30. We went to a neighborhood near the high school where several of Clara's friends live. We stopped at Micah's house to say hi and another schoolmate happened to be over as well. We got to visiting too long and by the time we headed back out, some houses either had run out of candy (including Micah's, where they went through 600 pieces his mom said) or were already done for the night. But, we still got around to several. It had just gotten done raining and the wind was cold, so I didn't care to be out too long myself. Clara asked to have another post-Halloween party this year and Brynn planned and executed the whole thing. One of our fav parts was the missing children posters which were all the guests. Green Army Man, Clara Barton, Luna Lovegood (from Harry Pott...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
