Clara Rae has arrived!

I am very pleased to announce the arrival of Clara Rae, born at 5:33 AM on August 2nd! She was 6 lbs 6 oz 18 3/4" long. On Friday night at about 7:30, we had just come upstairs to make some popcorn and watch Cinderella when my water broke. We called Dana's parents right away and waited for them to arrive so we could head in. Brynn quickly realized what was going on, of course. I don't think she slept much all night and could hardly wait to come meet her new baby sister the next morning.

Clara was my great-grandmother's name on my mom's side and Rae was my sister's middle name (she took our maiden name as her middle name when she got married).

Since my water had broken, they put me on Pitocin to speed things up a little bit. It was fairly slow going until about 5:00 AM. It was a busy night at the hospital, so once they realized things really started to move along, they tried to find the doctor. Clara was too ready to come into the world for the doctor only got one glove on and grabbed a towel for his other hand before she was out. Ha. She showed off her lungs right away. She was very healthy and perfect!

Brynn gussying up for her baby sister. Ha.
Proud big sister. You had to fight her to get a turn to hold Clara.

Grandpa & Grandma Froemming meeting Clara

The cousins and aunt and uncle came to visit and meet Clara!

Grandpa & Grandma Dietz also came to meet Clara.

Our first family of four photo.

My best friend Amanda who was pregnant the same time as I was (and who had her baby a little early on July 9) came to visit with her husband and baby.
Buddies already, just like their mamas.

She is such a snuggle bunny.

Yawn!
Brynn made a lot of artwork for baby Clara and me.

Getting ready to go home.

Brynn's friend Rosha and her mom were our first at-home visitors.

Fataneh was very excited to meet Clara.

Love the card. Dana is really outnumbered now. I think he likes it, though.

Snoozy Suzie

She loves to have her hands up by her face/head.
Pretty girl. She reminds me a lot of Brynn as a baby.
Brynn at a couple of weeks old. Clara is already more filled out at just a few days old compared to Brynn. Two pounds makes a lot of difference. You can also really see how yellow Clara is because of her jaundice.

Squeezy cheeks!

She checked out of the hospital with jaundice and at that time was down to 5 lbs 14 oz. So, they asked us to come in for a weight check and bilirubin level check yesterday. Her bilirubin was up a little and her weight slipped down to 5 lbs 11 oz. So, we have another appointment tomorrow for rechecks on both. If her bilirubin is still high, they may send us home with a bili light.

Brynn was begging for us to take her to Hope Camp so she could show off Clara. She thought we should just swing on by on our way home from the hospital on Monday. I told her we'd try to go after our appointment on Tuesday. So, we did make it over there yesterday and all the kids were pretty excited. It was pretty hilarious to see their reactions and hear some of the questions the kids had.

Brynn wanted to stay home with Clara and me until school starts, so we pulled her out of the HopeKids camp. Hopefully she won't get bored with being at home with us all day every day. Right now Dana is home this week which has been so helpful for anything I need help with around the house or with Clara and in entertaining Brynn. I know I'll miss him being around when he goes back to work next week.

Clara is such a sweet baby and the perfect addition to our family. Thank you to everyone who gave gifts, visited us, called and took pictures.

Awww, I love all of the pics! The one of her yawning is so cute! I wish I could hold her right now. What a sweetie. Her going-home sleeper is adorably a little big on her  Love the welcome home sign! And the flowers from Dana. How sweet. I love the one where she’s lying on her side with her eyes open. So pretty. Great update!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
